Itty Bitty Vampire Committee Revisited

To help you all get into the holiday spirit, here's a little Halloween post from the past.  It's our little LaBath ladies.

Have a great weekend, everyone . Be safe!

Yes,, they look innocent enough, but I have reason to believe that one by one, these kittens are turning into vampires.

It all seems to have started with Miranda.

I vant to suck your blooooood

Innocent angel, Enid, was her first victim.

fallen angel

Then Hester's neck was next.

Your neck is next

Noooooooooooooooo

And now Georgette is really, really scared. (note puffed-out tail)

does that mean I'm next?

Because her sisters are looking awfully thirsty.

Bottomless Basket of Kittens

I bought this pink basket for Charlene when she was just a tiny tot. She slept in it for her first year, then outgrew it. Now, it belongs to the kittens.

Every single litter we've had has curled up in this basket. Oh, the memories it holds.
(and thank goodness it's machine washable)

Here's a little sampling of the cuteness this basket has contained.

Today this Itty Bitty Blog is celebrating it's two year anniversary! What a year it's been! We've met so many amazing little kittens and found so many wonderful families to adopt them. Our community has grown bigger (it more than doubled over the past year) and stronger (so many friendships forged). We also joined together to raise almost 23 sqillion to help the homeless cats and kittens.

Thank you once again for all your love and support. I appreciate you all stopping by each day. I am thankful for all the comments you leave and the notes you send us. You're a lovely community, and I appreciate you all so much. Out of all the blogs out there,, I doubt there's a warmer bunch of followers.

Thank you for ALWAYS being there.

In honer of this blogiversary, I thought I would share some stats with you.

In the past year we fostered 32 kittens and placed them with 17 families.

Yep, They're All Gone

goodbye little ladies

This weekend we said goodbye to the last of The LaBaths. Enid and Hester Sue's Mom braved the winter weather to pick up her kitties on Saturday morning.

They had been bouncing lightly about the house when Mama Karen arrived. She put their carrier on the floor, opened up the doors and both girls (and Charlene) quietly explored it while we did all of the adoption paper work. I packed up the last of their belongings, we said our good-byes, the kittens put on their mittens, and off they went.

We certainly enjoyed our last days with these girls. We usually don't keep the kittens so long. It was fun to watch them mature a bit more and see the hair grow back in on their once-shaved little bellies.

It was a true delight knowing all of the LaBath girls. They were an exceptional little litter, I can't imagine a sweeter bunch. We will miss them dearly.

We're taking a kitten break while we finish up with the holiday season. We've got our tree up now, and I don't want to spend the next few weeks fishing kittens out of it. Also, it's a hectic time for me with work, and I don't feel I have time or focus that kittens demand.

I've still got lots of LaBath pics left so share,, so I'll continue to post those (probably not everyday) until we get a fresh batch.

If you need more of a kitten fix, you can visit Enid and Hester's blog.
And don''t forget, there are lots of other IBKC Alumni blogs,, (scroll down the page a bit,,, they're all listed right hand side)

Holy Cow! They're Gone!!!

we're going to miss you lovely little ladies

Weeeeeeeelllll, guess what? We only have two kittens bouncing around
the house this morning. Georgette and Miranda found themselves a
wonderful family this weekend and now they are gone!

Lucky for all of us, their new dad is a coworker of Craig's, so we'll
be able to keep close tabs on the girls.

They're going to have a great life...a family to love them,, a big
brother cat AND a dog too! Most importantly,, they're staying together.

I'm not sure Enid and Hester have even noticed that they're gone yet. They've been completely preoccupied exploring the boxes of Christmas decorations I brought up from the basement. We won't be putting up the tree until they leave. They're just a little too curious about Christmas. I don't think I want the angel on the top of my tree to be Enid!

Kitty Profile: Georgette LaBath

DSC_0557
Name: Georgette LaBath
Nickname: Georgie Girl
Describe yourself in 20 words or less: I am warm, affectionate, and a little bit nosey. I just need to know what's going on.
What are your hobbies? I love, love, love to gallop about the house. I also like to pounce and puff.
Favorite toy: I enjoy a good mylar ball from time to time, but I think my very most favorite toy is a red pipe cleaner. I like to carry it around and park it by my food bowl while I snack.
Dislikes: I don't like being alone. None of us do.
Dream-home: I would enjoy a big open house with lots of room for me and one of my sisters to run. Lots of squishy sofas and warm laps are good too.
An interesting fact about me: I love giving kisses. I'll lick you as long as you let me and I'll purr while I'm doing it.
Minor Imperfection: I don't think I have one. I am perfect. And my little beauty mark above my lip makes me perfection plus, if that's possible.
Why should you adopt me? I am that missing puzzle piece in your life. You need me. And one of my sisters too. I will bring you more joy than you ever could imagine.

Kitty Profile: Miranda LaBath

DSC_0796
Name: Miranda LaBath
Nickname: I don't really have any yet. I'm just Miranda, so far.
Describe yourself in 20 words or less: I am a sweet and loyal polka-dotted girl. Where ever you are, I would like to be there too.
What are your hobbies? I like perching on shoulders while rubbing my face against yours. I also enjoy watching the human-folk scoop my litter box. It's just fascinating. Oh,, I also play a little guitar.
Favorite toy: I do enjoy batting at Charlene's tail, but I was told that's not a toy, so I guess I would have to say shoelaces.
Dislikes: I don't like being alone. None of us do.
Dream-home: I'll be happy just about anywhere, as long as I'm getting lots of love, and have a sister by my side. I doesn't matter which one, I love them all the same.
An interesting fact about me: I am the most vocal of all the LaBath girls. I'm the one who's crying at the bedroom door in the morning, waiting to come out for my breakfast. Did you know I have angel wings on my back too? They are just like Enid's, but they're in the middle of a bunch of other spots.
Minor Imperfection:I have hard time keeping my nose clean (literally). You can look at me and tell what I had for breakfast. I'm usally still wearing it.
Why should you adopt me? Two words. Polka Dots. Or is that one word? Polkadot. Either way,, I'm cute. And who doesn't need more cute in their life.

Strangely, none of the fabulous LaBath Ladies have been spoken for yet. These girls are going out in pairs. I just can't split them up. They are so, so close.

SO if you're fabulous too, and need a pair of cute little girl kitties in your life, please send me an email today. They'll be ready to go out the door VERY soon.

A Two Pound Angel

DSC_0705
When Miss Enid stepped on the scale yesterday, she passed the two pound mark.

DSC_0713
Still, her tiny wings are strong enough to get her off the ground. She spends lots of time roosting on our shoulders and the backs of chairs. More than once, I have found her hanging from the drapes.

Game Over

DSC_0562
Enid and Miranda were having a great time wrestling in and on the paper bag until Miss Butterbean came along and planted her big old self right on top of their fun.

Come on, Charlene. Move it along.

Minus Two, Today

DSC_0540
DSC_0785

Miranda and Georgette are spending the day at the HS. Yep, it's time for them to get their itty bitty bits removed.

You don't really notice how noisy four kittens are, until you only have two kittens.

I'll be thinking about them all day long and look forward to picking them up this afternoon.
