Best Bath Ever

Let's revisit this very sweet moment with Charlene and the adorable Royal Tipton! Please, please take a moment to watch the video. It will make your heart happy, I swear. Little Royal Tipton did his afternoon napping in a shoe box on the corner of my desk.

He was just waking up, when Charlene jumped up on the desk to say hello and take a peek out the window.

Excuse me, Charlene.  Might you have a moment to give me a bath?

I most certainly do, Royal.

Woah.

I Sense a Trend

Wylla's not the only kitten taking walks. Do you recognize this former foster of ours? It's dear, sweet Royal Tipton!

He took his very first walk this week and mama Mari documented the event. She said he did great and was really excited to do a little outdoor exploring.

He sure is handsome, isn't he?  I thought for sure he would be much floofier when he grew up,  but it seems as though he grew into his coat.

In case you've forgotten what an adorable lad he was, here you go!

It's great seeing Royal again!  Thank you for sharing his stroll with us, Mari!

Royal Found His Palace!

DSC_0769

Once I announced on the blog that Royal was still on the market, I got a flood of emails from interested parties.  The first was from Mari, and she sounded like the ideal candidate.

She shared a lot about herself and the life she lived with her handsome lilac point siamese mix.  She sounded like a sweet person and responsible pet owner, so I got right on the phone and gave her a call.

We chatted for a long time, and then set up a time for her to meet him.  The meeting part really was just a formality,  she wanted this boy, and I wanted this family for Royal.

So, on Friday evening she came down and scooped up sweet little Royal and off they went.

I've gotten several updates from Mari already, and it's clear she's enchanted by this little prince.

The kitties aren't BFF yet, but each day shows improvements.  Royal is happy and comfortable,  and I'm sure it won't be too much longer before his big brother to feels the same way.   Last night they shared Mari's lap for a nap, which is an excellent sign that things are really progressing.

Charlene enjoyed the time she had with just Royal.  She gave him many baths, lots of love, and they had great times chasing each other all over the house.

After he left, you could tell she was exhausted.  She took many extra-long naps those first couple days - it's hard for a six-year-old lady to keep up with such a young thing!

We enjoyed having this time with him too, but are so happy he found such a great home! That lucky boy is going to have a very good life.  I know Mari will give him the Royal treatment.

Royal Needs a Palace

Our Tipton chapter is coming to a close.

This batch was a fast one. They only had a few ounces to gain to make weight. Mostly, they just needed a little TLC to get them past their scaredy-cat ways.

Well they did it, and now it's time to move on.  We've already said goodbye to dear Jimmy an Floyd, and now we need to find a place for Royal.

Royal is an exceptional boy. He so very sweet and affectionate and has so much love to give. He's 2.5 pounds of pure kitten delight.

Did I mention he loves to purr?   He LOVES to purr.  And chirp and squeak.  He's very vocal.

His ideal home would have a kitten or an active younger adult cat to keep him company.  And maybe a few cardboard boxes too - he loves those.  Oh, and some paper bags.   Those are always fun for Royal.

If you're on the hunt for a floofy, sweet kitten, please give us a holler and tell us a little bit about yourself.  If you're not, but know of someone in our neighborhood (Seattle/Tacoma) who might be, please send them our way!

We'll be here, waiting for your call.

Thanks!

There's Nothing Like a Bath from Butterbean

Remind Me Again, Please

Psssssst. I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time telling us apart. We really do look an awful lot alike. Now, who am I and who are you?

 DSC_0702

For the SQUILLIONTH time, YOU are Royal and I am Floyd.

 DSC_0704

Poor little lad. One of these days he'll figure it out.

 DSC_0724

I am Royal. He is Floyd. I am Royal. He's Floyd. I am Floyd. Wait. That's not right. I am Royal. He is Floyd.

PS  The answer to yesterday's test -  Royal was on the left and Floyd on the right.   Congrats to all who guessed correctly!  And to those who guessed wrong,  please study the photos above.  There may be a pop quiz later.

This is a Test

Who is who?   Take a guess, and let's see how well you know these Tipton boys.
Is it Floyd and Royal or Royal and Floyd?

Adorable Distractions on My Desk and Some Huge News, Too.

I've been spending a lot of time at my computer these days, so I put a little bed on the corner of my desk, so Charlene can keep me company.  She loves it there, and I love having her close.

The Tiptons, who get more and more adventurous each day, discovered they can climb my pant legs and make their way to the top of the desk.  They too keep me company, but their adorableness is a tad distracting.

And like to steal my pens and post-it notes.

And they spill things.

But mostly they are adorable, so I let them stay.

So why am I spending so much time at my computer these days?

(Here's the huge news part.)

I'm writing a book.
Yep, an Itty Bitty Kitty Committee book.

And the manuscript is due very soon.

It's been in the works for quite some time, and I've been slowly sharing the news.  Some of you local  folks may have found out about it already if you happened to catch this podcast I did with my friend, Marguerite.

I'll be telling you more about it later, and promise to share every last detail then.

: )

I can hardly believe it, but a dream I've had for a very long time is coming true.

The next couple months will be hard ones, but don't worry, it shouldn't interrupt your daily dose of itty bitty kitties.

A Royal Greeting for Bean

The quarantine period is now over, so yesterday the Tipton Tabbies were sprung from their quarters.

They were starting to get very curious about what was waiting for them on the other side of the door, and it was becoming quite a challenge to get in or out of their room without someone (or everyone) escaping.   Needless to say, they are thrilled with this new freedom.

And yes, they've met Bean.

Royal Tipton Raises the Cute Bar

This happens every now and again.

We think we've seen the cutest thing ever, then the cute bar gets raised by an adorable IBKC kitten doing something horribly, horribly adorable.

Yesterday, Royal raised the bar.
