And Away They Go

DSC_0759

Thanks to our friends at Met Vet, Lisa and family found their way to us. They were looking for a pair of kittens. Just a pair. A boy and a girl.

But then they met the Lively Bunch. Lambert had been spoken for already, so they had their choice of the remaining three.

Well, the girl part was easy, there was only one girl, and Fiona is fabulous. But the boy? They always have loved orange kittens. And they've always loved gray kittens. And Irving is so darn cute. And Truman is so darn cute.

And then Lisa said to her husband "Can we take all three?".

And he kind of laughed. Kind of.

I didn't need a decision then and there, so I suggested they give it some thought, and let me know when they've made up their minds.

A few hours later, I got an email, and yep, they wanted all three. Of course, they wanted all three. Could YOU take just two if you met these three kittens?

I didn't think so.

You'll be happy to know that Lisa is a blogger, and she promises an occasional kitty post. Click HERE to visit her blog, Life of Elle.

She and her husband also run an amazing organization called Sweet Hope, where they make and sell chocolates, and use the funds they raise to help orphans worldwide.

Please visit their website or Facebook page to find out more. Maybe there are a few folks on your Christmas list that might enjoy a box of handmade chocolate truffles.

How lucky are our kittens? They get to stay together, and they found a fabulous home.

Bye-Bye, Lively Bunch. Be good little kitties. Let me know how it goes with your new sibling "Busy" the Boxer. Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't I mention you're moving in with a one year old dog? I'm sure you'll be fine. There are three of you, and only one of her. You're busy, she's "Busy", it will all be Ok.

Wee Ones in the Window

The kittens have a big day ahead - they're going in for a round of vaccines and micro-chipping. They never enjoy the needles, of course, but they enjoy all the love and attention they receive when they visit the shelter. They are always quite popular with the staff and volunteers.

I weighed Fiona before breakfast and even with an empty belly, she weighed two pounds. She's the last to cross over the mark, so hopefully we'll putting them all on the surgery schedule for early next week. Which means that this time next week, we'll be Lively-less!

Oh dear. Are you ready for that?

Today I have the last set of group shots with ALL the kittens to share with you. I think I took these pictures post lunch and pre nap because some are licking their faces clean and some are dozing off.

Like all kittens of our have discovered, the window is the best place to be on a sunny afternoon.

Where's Lambert, you ask? Is he on the lam?

Well, today's a big day for him. He crossed the two pound mark, and he's off getting snipped. Yes, he'll be leaving us VERY soon. I'll fill you in on all the details later, but I will tell you he's found a pretty special home with a family you've met before.

The others aren't two pounds yet, so don't fret, we'll still have a couple of weeks with them before they are ready go.

Even though the Lively Bunch were a tiny bunch when they moved in, they've been a very healthy litter. They are all eating well and growing fast, so they will be short-timers compared to other litters.

Like I said,, we've still got a couple of weeks left before we say good-bye,,, so let's enjoy the time we have left with our beautiful babes.

Monday Morning Suit

I wanted to share this picture with you so you can get a better look at Truman's little morning suit.

It looks like he's starting to outgrow it. The jacket is a little short and with that big ole belly, he can barely button it!

Still, he's a dapper little lad.
