A big thanks to all the families of these former IBKs for sharing photos of your babes all grown up. It's so nice seeing all these happy, healthy faces again!

I'm hoping that after seeing so many of these awesome IBKC success stories, you might feel inspired to pay a visit to our FUNdrasing page, and make a little donation to help other awesome kittens find awesome families.  Every little bit helps! Every little bit is appreciated!

I've got a few more alumni updates to share, and if I don't get them up today, I'll sprinkle them in next week.

Spoonin'

Who are these lovely spoonin' kittens? Well, no other than Hubie and Lucinda Darling! A huge thanks goes out to Trish, their mama, for sharing this awesome moment with us. It warms my heart to see that they are still so cuddly and close.

Lucinda and Hubie Darling

I went through the IBKC archives to see if there was another cuddly pic of this pair from their early days with us, and ran across this image. I think this might be my all-time-favorite napping kitty moments. There area few more in the series, and if you would like to see them, click here.

Lucinda has left too. But before she did, she said goodbye to all of her Darling sisters.

And then off she went with a very handsome boy kitty.

Who got his share of lovin' before he left too.

I've Got Some Good News... And Some Bad News, Lucinda. Which Would You Like to Hear First?

Good news!!! Let's start with the good news!!

DSC_0531.JPG
Well the good news is, we've raised over $11,000 in pledges for the Humane Society so far.

Oh that's so amazing! Hooooraaaayyyy!!! Now lay it on me,, what's the bad news?

Well, you can't eat this morning, I'm putting you and Hubie into the kitty carrier, we're going for a ride in the car, we're visiting the doctor, and you'll both have a simple surgery performed.

Can I hear the good news again? Please?

Little Lucinda...

DSC_0652.JPG
... isn't so little anymore. All the kittens are growing fast, but she's got them all beat by a good four ounces. She'll be the first to meet the two pound mark.

Kitten Curtain Hammock

Such smart kittens they are. They managed to create a little hammock out of our livingroom drapes!

That little triangle shaped shadow on the lower left side of the curtain is Rhoda's ear.

The feet and hands belong to my 18 month old friend, Violet. The kittens were quite cautious, but very curious to meet this tiny human.

Getting to Know These Darling Kittens

Selma, Hubie, Rhoda, Francine and Lucinda Darling

Selma, Hubie, Rhoda, Francine and Lucinda Darling

From top top bottom (or left to right):
Selma, Hubie, Rhoda, Francine, and Lucinda.

These little Darlings are about four or five weeks old, which is is a little younger than our last few litters. They are pretty tiny, and only weigh between 12 ounces and a pound.

Their mama was a feral cat, and they were brought into the Humane Society on Monday. They were just a tiny bit scared at first. Little Hubie and Lucinda would hiss if you moved in a little too close. Once you held them for a second,it would stop. By day two, the hissing stopped completely, and now you're greeted with a purr or cry hello instead.

They are super active. They've got speed, but not coordination. They are most interested in playing with each other right now, and spend lot of time wrestling and rolling around.

Their Darling little personalities are starting to shine already, and it's been a pleasure getting to know them.

So far this is what we've seen:

Francine: Big talker. She cries hello, pick me up, put me down, feed me, feed me, feed me, love me.

Selma: Always happy to see a human. She waddles right up to say hello and will climb up in your lap.

Hubie: Big kitten in a tiny body, super animated, purr, purr, purrsonality plus!

Rhoda: Run, run, Rhoda! Curious little thing. LOVES to wrestle. Purrs while eating. Once fell asleep in her food dish.

Lucinda: Sweet, sweet, sweet purring machine. Total cuddler.

Little Lucinda Darling

Lucinda Darling

It's Darling girl number three, little Lucinda! I have to say, she's much tinier than she looks in the picture. She BARELY weighs a pound!
