Good Golly, Mr Poly(dactyl)

While Russell was out cold,  I got out the macro lens so I could take some close-up photos and show you his complicated little paw pads.

Though technically he has just two extra toes -- one tucked deep between his "thumb" and "index finger" on each front foot, he has few extra little pads on his paws.

Here's his right paw.


 



And his left.



Aren't they just spectacular ?

His mitts have always been big, but it does seem that as he's grown, they've grown at a quicker pace.  His paws are starting to look like lobster claws!   Check out this video of the boy.

Two Months Tomorrow

Tomorrow the Picketts will all celebrate their two month birthday. It's fun to look back and see how they have changed. Little roley-poley baby Nadine, has turned into a refined beauty. Although her rounded edges have become pointy, her soft cotton coat remains the same. The once timid Nadine is now brave and independent, but when she's sleepy, she still loves to curl up on a lap in a safe little ball to nap.

Sometime I think Lovell's winking at me. Sometimes I think he's giving me the old stink-eye.

Girl Number Three: Nadine Pickett

This darling miss is Nadine Picket. She's the third and final girl kitty in the Pickett litter. She's quiet, demure, and as sweet as pie. Sometimes she'll sit back and watch the world go by. Other times, she's right in the the middle of it all. She started off looking more like a dilute tortie. He color is shifting now and she's looking a little more tabby. It will be interesting to see her develop. She too was blessed with extra toes.
