It's true, all the Smalls have left our nest. Today, I'll share the last of the pictures of the whole group together, and tomorrow we'll start sharing their adoption tales.
I think the Smalls have all decided that my craft room desk is the best seat in the house. They camped out there during sunny days, and now that days are darker, with a lamp as a substitute sunbeam, they're still there. It is a good spot to roost and nap.
It's nice having them close by and because they're Small, they don't take up too much space on my desk, so I still have room to work.
In my 19 years of living in the Northwest, this has got to be the loveliest October I've experienced. It's been dry and sunny, and without the rain to nudge the leaves off of their branches, the fall color has remained intact.
This morning everything feels different. It's cooler and overcast and it seems the gray weather has arrived and is here to stay.
In all of their weeks of existence, the Small kittens have only known sunshine-filled days. I think they must have had an inkling that these days were coming to an end because they spent all of yesterday chasing the rays.
They napped in the bedroom to catch the morning sun, then moved to the craft room to soak in the afternoon rays.
I love how their ears become pink and transparent as the sun passes through and reveals a little roadmap of veins.
These Smalls are lovely in any light, but in the sunshine, they are warm and happy and they glow.
