A Peek at the Posters

The Internet Cat Video Fest tickets are flying out the door, so they've been adding additional screenings for the night of April 11th. The 6:45 show has sold out, but there are still seats available for the 6:30, 7:00, and 7:15 screenings. Please don't delay -- there's a lot of enthusiasm about the event, and I would not be surprised if all the seats get filled! To learn more about the Fest and get your tickets, please visit HERE!

Many of you asked about the movie posters on our tiny theatre lobby set, so I wanted to share a up-close look at them.

First we have "Dial M for Meow" a play on the Hitchcock thriller "Dial M for Murder."  The kitty on the poster is Priscilla Batsel, who's as elegant as Grace Kelly, don't you think?

And there's "Let the White One In," which is play on the slow, dark, and uber-creepy Swedish movie,  "Let the Right One In."  The "white one" on the poster is dear Linus Medley.

And finally, "The Seventh Sealpoint" by Ingmar Birman. I'm guessing we have some Ingmar Bergman fans in the crowd, so I'm sure you caught the reference, but for those who didn't, it's a play on "The Seventh Seal." The Seal Point is sweet little Gaetano Fortunato.

Craig and I collaborated on these posters, and had some good laughs creating them. We've got some more ideas up our sleeves, and if time allows, we'll add them to the set.

OH, and what about the award?

Because she's so dramatic....

The Fifty Most Popular Posts in IBKC History -- Part One!

I've been blogging about our fostering adventures for over eight years now, and have written over 3000 posts! 3099, to be exact! After all these years of blogging, I thought it might be fun to take a big look back and compile a list of our most popular posts.

I spent a lot of time reading old posts, and to rank the top fifty, I considered the number of comments first, followed by page views and the number of shares. Over the next five posts, I'll share with you this list. Please take some time and click on all the links. It's fun to revisit these stories and also read what you all had to say!

Here we go!!!

LINUS!

Lucky me! I got to check in on Mr Linus Medley while his family was out of town!

He's getting huge! And he's not as floofy as I thought he might become - he's kind of growing into his fur. His body is long and he's not the dumpling he once was. My goodness, he's handsome!

The second I came through the door he jumped up and was purring in my arms. I've seen him maybe twice since he left our nest, so I'm not sure he remembers me. It could be he's a lover to anyone who enters their home.

He's such a playful, well-adjusted, happy little guy. He has charmed his brother and sister, a tux and a tortie (one, who was known for their grumpiness) and now they're all close friends.

It was such a treat to spend time with him again. It's rare I get to hang out with one of our former fosters. It's nice to see he's doing so well.

Yep.  Linus Medley.   Here's a little peek at our prince.

Tomorrow morning, or when we clear three squillion, whichever happens first, I'll be posting lots of pics of our playdate.

We're Minus Linus

DSC_0117

A few weeks back, just after the Medleys were out of quarantine, my friend Sarah's daughter, Piper, had a birthday party. It was a kitten-themed event, so I packed up the Medleys, and brought them by to surprise the little guests.

The kids, all dressed as kittens, were thrilled to meet the whole family. Linus was an especially huge hit.

After we left, Piper opened her presents. One of her gifts was a stuffed, fluffy white kitten. Of course she named him "Linus".

Weeks before this event, their orange tabby boy, Jones, began been battling an illness. Sarah and the family were doing all they could to keep him here on this planet, but sadly on the weekend following the birthday party, he slipped away.

There are two other cats in the family, but Jones was very, very special to Sarah. He was her snuggly little man, and after he left, she was missing her little love and their cuddle time.

Days later, Sarah came over for a coffee date, and confessed her love for Linus. She and the family had been thinking and talking about him, and she wondered if he might be available for adoption. Even though they never thought they would be getting a kitten soon, they just couldn't get him out of their heads.

At that time, I had a party interested in Linus and a littermate, so I had to see how that played first.

Things fell through, Linus became available, so of course, he found his home with Sarah and family. He moved in on Friday.

I couldn't imagine a better family for Linus. They loved him even before he was theirs.

I promise we'll be getting lots of Linus updates. He lives only a few blocks away, so I'll be able to check in on him.

Also, Sarah's put a few pictures of the boy up on her blog.

It sounds like he's doing great, and adjusting quickly to his new life.

Hooray for Linus!

And HOORAY for Maxine, too! She found her family this weekend! More on that tomorrow....

Happy Monday, Friends. I hope your week is off to a great start.
