A Draper Upate!

WAY back in 2009, we hosted the adorable Drapers.  The left our nest in pairs -- Gordon and Millie were adopted by Kelly.  Luella and Perry were adopted by Mimi and her family.

From left to right: Luella, Gordon, Millie and Perry.

Meet The Drapers

All four of grew to be gorgeous big cats, as you can see in the photos below, and both parties report their kitties bring them lots of happiness.

Here are Luella and Perry!

And here are Gordon and Millie!

Thank you so much for sharing your kitties with us today, Kelly and Mimi! It's so nice seeing the whole Draper family again!

More updates coming today!  Stay close, friends!

Gordon and Millie Draper: Where Are They Now?

Gordon and Millie Draper were adopted by Kelly way back in 2009.  They were adorable kittens then, and they grew up to be some pretty stunning adults!

First, here are the young Drapers:

And here they are today!

Here's what Kelly had to say:

Life with Gordon and Millie is great. As we approach our 7th year anniversary, it's hard to imagine what things were like before we all got connected!  I guess we're are only little cat family now :)

Gordon and Millie remind me of my own yin and yang. Gordon the slightly neurotic over-analyzer, and Millie the fearless daredevil that doesn't always look before she leaps.  Gordon loves to give headbutts and hang out in the kitchen sink. His purr is like a revving engine.

Millie, the mastermind of the pair, loves to instigate the chase, and has become a bit of a chatty cat. Her most traumatic experience was spending a night on the deck, hiding under the grill, after sneaking out when I wasn't looking. She survived just fine :)   They really are a wonderful pair.

They are, indeed, wonderful! Thanks for taking the time to share them with us, Kelly!

ON the FUNdraising front: We're not there yet, but we're making progress! We've got $1000 left to meet in our match, so if you can take us a step closer, we sure would appreciate it.

Click HERE to visit our FUNdraising page. THANK YOU to all who have helped us make it this far!  And thanks in advance to those who get us all the way there! Because we're going to do it, right??!!

Perhaps you remember The Drapers...

Of course you do! You LOVED them.

Well, here they are again! Kelly (Gordon and Millie's Pa) and Mimi (Perry and Luella's Ma) were kind enough to share a few pictures of their not-so-itty-bitties.

They definitely are less kitten-y now. Their bodies are all lanky and their facial features have matured. Still, such lovely creatures they are!

Thank you SO much, Kelly and Mimi. It's so good to see The Drapers again!

Gordon and Millie, Luella and Perry.

Yep, that's how The Drapers paired off.

They are perfectly paired, and their new families are really, really lovely folks. I think you would approve.

Gordon and Millie were the first to depart this weekend. Kelly, their new dad, is a super nice guy and first time cat owner. He came down with his girlfriend, Leslie, to pick them up. I know he's going to make an excellent kitty daddy, it's clear he loves his kittens already.

Kelly and Leslie are friends of our friends, Chris and Carrie. AND the wonderful family that adopted Luella and Perry, are friends of Kelly and Leslie! I always love it when our kittens stay in the family. Hopefully we'll be able to keep close tabs on all four Draper kittens.

Here are a few pictures from our last days with Millie and Gordon. Later, I'll do a post devoted to the other Draper duo.

A Little Modesty, Millie! Please.

DSC_1210
She just wanted to show off her naked, post-surgery belly. It's healing nicely, and there's already a little stubble fluff growing back.

Why So Sad, Millie?

DSC_1150
You're looking a little glum. What on earth could be the problem, Millie?

DSC_1148
Nothing. Sniff. Nothing's wrong. Sniff.

DSC_1156
Oh dear, I see what the trouble is. SOMEONE has been chewing on your whiskers. Now who could it be? Perry. Perry is it you?

DSC_1226
I'm innocent. I swear, I'm innocent.

Hungry Monkeys

Enter my kitchen and you'll be followed by a tiny band of screaming, crying, climbing, hungry kittens. Sure they ate an hour ago, but as far they're concerned, a human in the kitchen = meal time.

Helloooo in There!

Miss Millie is a burrower. The other night she dove under this blanket for a nap.

This blanket is also Charlene's favorite spot to make biscuits. While Millie napped, Charlene kneaded and kneaded the blanket until she kneaded Millie right out of her hidey-hole. Miss Millie slept through it all.

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday, and all your pets are tucked away safe and sound.
