While We Wait...

While we all patiently wait for our next litter of kittens to arrive, I thought we might revisit some posts from the past.    Not every single day, but just sprinkled in.

When I started thinking about some of my favorite IBKC moments to share again, this was the first that popped into my mind....   our first glimpse at the Batsels.

Here you go!!!  Enjoy!

Well, I have a little confession to make.   Even before all the Dearborns had departed, I had some kittens waiting in the wings.

Not long before.

And I should say they were waiting WITH wings, not in the wings,  because they can fly.

Let me explain....

Between departures I headed down to the HS to pick up some paperwork.    And there they were.  Waiting for me.  Screaming to be let out.  Clamoring in their cage.

How could I deny them their freedom?

And so I brought them home.

And released them in their room.

And,

And,

And,

And, this happened.

They went airborne.

And this isn't the first time it's happened.  Remember Wendell J Hopps?

Bye-Bye Batsels!

DSC_0227 Their stay was brief, but those dazzling Batsels just leapt right into our hearts, and we all fell head-over-heels for them.

We're missing them terribly, but they all found excellent families, and I know they're happy as can be.

Priscilla and Claudius moved in with a pair of empty-nesters who are working on filling up their nest once again.  The kids are all gone, so Jackie and Steve started by adopting a puppy, and now they're adding two Batsels to the brood.

They'll have their hands full, I'm sure, but that sounds like a whole lot of fun, and I think they're up for the challenge.

On Monday, I got an email from Sarah.   Sarah is a friend of Carmen (Sheldon and Pearla Dearborn's mom).  She said she was in the market for a pair of Tabby kittens.   I emailed her back instantly to to say "Oh, do I have a pair of Tabbies for YOU!".

We arranged a  meet and greet for that evening.

Sarah came down with her boyfriend, and they were quickly charmed by dear little Clifford and Barnum.  We filled out the paper work, and off they went!    It all felt like it happened so fast, but it was time.   The boys were getting big, and we hate for our adopting families to miss out on those precious kitten days.  They grow So fast.

DSC_0053 DSC_0058 Bye-bye, Batsels.   Thank you for coming into our lives.  We are so lucky to have met you, and look forward to hearing about your further adventures.

The Last of ALL the Batsels

Sorry this post was so late today. Blogger and Flickr were not shaking hands today, and I wasn't able to post any images. Argh!

We'll be having departure stories starting tomorrow, but today, I thought I would share with you the very last of the Batels babes all together.

What a lovely family they are. And such a loving little bunch, too.

Nearing the End of the Batsel Chapter

Well, friends.  We're nearing the end of the Batsel chapter.   This week, all the babes had their itty bitty bits removed.   Two of the Batsels have found their homes and we're getting close to finding a place for the others.   So soon, we'll be waving bye-bye to all the Batsels.

I know it seems so soon but when they moved in, there wasn't too much growing left to do.

It sure has been nice getting to know this floofy little bunch.  I'm grateful for every minute I've had with them.   I hope you feel the same.
