A Milton and Bunny Ashby Update!

Most likely, it's going to be a little quiet around here with the holiday and all, but I've got several alumni updates left to share, so I'm going to go ahead and post anyway!

Today we have the adorable Milton and Josephine (Bunny) Ashby!   Christopher, their pa, sent some sweet photos of the pair for us to enjoy !

First, let's take a look at back to when these Ashby kittens were tiny. That's Bunny on the left and Milton on the right.

Here's what their pa had to say:

They still get along really well, and are often cuddled up together. Blossom (Bunny)  can never get enough attention, and Buddy (Milton) has perfected his "turn on the water faucet" meow.

We're a happy little family here on Beacon Hill in Seattle.

Thanks so much for sharing your kittens with us, Christopher! It's wonderful to see how close they still are today! Please give them love from all of us!

Ok, folks. Get your kitties inside before the fireworks start flying and keep them safe today. It's a scary day for the critters in the USA.

We'll see you tomorrow with a couple of more updates and we'll start gearing up for our FUNdraise, too!  See you then!

It's March, Where are They?

This morning I woke up thinking that we should be seeing kittens any day now.  January and February are always the quietest months, but in March it seems that things start picking up. I went into the blog archives to see if we were holding kittens on March 17th of the previous years,  and discovered that more years than not, we did.

March 17th 2015:
No kittens, just the big cats! But we were still sidelined after the ringworm incident that fall, so even if there were kittens at the shelter, we couldn't have them.

But we had this silly thing to keep us entertained that DAY.

No kittens on March 17th of 2014, but we had an update on Opal the Kitten (not Opal the Human). We were still taking a break because of Filbert's virus at this time, so no kittens for us.

On March 17th of 2013, we had Wylla and Audrey, and they were tiny.  We were in the thick of it with Wylla, and trying to get to the bottom of her health issues. She had just returned from spending a few days in Vet Treatment where she got poked, prodded, and tested for everything. It was a hard time for her. And it was hard for us too -- so much worry.

On March 17 of 2012, the Knapps had JUST arrived the day before and we got to meet little Wylie.

Gosh, that nose. Just look at that nose.

On March 17th of 2011, we had the seriously cute Medley family in our care. Egads!

No kittens on March 17th in 2010, and Bean was BORED.  The Spooners had just left the week before, and the Lytteltons would move in one week later.

On March 17th of 2009, we had the Ashbys.  Milton, who was the biggest, was getting close to making weight!

On March 17th of 2008, we were midway through the Mayfield litter. Here's pensive little Porter.

This give me hope, folks. Historically, we usually have kittens in March, so hopefully we'll be seeing them SOON!

Now You Know!

Below are the answers to yesterday's alumni quiz.

So, how did you do? It was really hard, I know.

No one got them all correct, but a couple of you got six out of seven right, which is really awesome, because it was difficult.  Thanks for playing along! We'll try another one before the week is out.

More alum updates to come today,  and don't forget, we've got a huge matching happening now and ALL that we raise will help build the new room for the foster kittens, and Cynthia has offered up a $5000 match, and we've got $4155 to go, so if you're in a position to help, please do!

To learn more about the match and the room we are funding and see a touching video from Cynthia, just scroll down to the previous post!

To make a tax-deductible donation for the new foster room, visit our FUNdraising page.

Ashby Update!

Hey everybody, LOOK! It's our old friends Milton and Bunny Ashby! They just celebrated their first birthday, and are looking quite grown up! Thanks goes to their pa, Christopher, for sharing the lovely shots.

Milton's tabby stripes are spectacular as are Bunny's golden-greeny eyes. Soooo good to see you both again!!

Josephine "Bunny" and Milton Ashby

Keeping up our long tradition of adopting out tuxedo girls with tabby boys, Bunny and Milton went together.

Since they've left, I've had lots of updates from their papa, Christopher. It sounds like they are completely enchanted by Bunny and Milton, and are enjoying these little bundles of energy and fluff in their lives.

No surprise at all, they are fabulous kittens.

Mom, Can Milton Go Too???

DSC_0772

I'm sorry Clovis, but Milton has other plans. It's going to be you and Rupert, which is plenty-o-kitten for anyone.
