Our Fifteen Floofiest Foster Kittens

Judging by the reactions we get whenever we introduce a floofy foster kitten,  it's clear you're fans of the very hairy. I thought it might be fun to put together a list of our favorites,  so I spent some time digging through the archives and found our fifteen floofiest foster kittens!

Here they are in no particular order...

Wiggins: Where are They Now?

Here's a little update on our former fosters, Buster and Susanna Rose!

Hi Laurie, I wanted to write and give you an update on our adorable kitties. Henry (aka Buster Wiggins) and Luna (aka Susanna Rose, aka Luna Bear, aka Looney Tunes) are doing great in our home.

They are both very sweet and love snuggling with each other. Henry is still very curious and active and loves chasing his toys. It has been a bit hard to keep him off of the counters but we recently started a positive reinforcement training method and he is doing well with it. I love his determination and curiosity. He also turned out to be quite a snuggler! He loves being held and rocked like a baby and sometimes falls asleep in my arms on his back. I've never had a cat who likes to be cradled like that so much!

Luna is as calm and relaxed as ever. Henry can get her riled up with his wrestling, but they always play nice together. We've tried letting them sleep with us but Luna likes to lay across our necks or faces, which is a little distracting. :)

We are so glad they are in our home and we often talk about how glad we are to have both of them together. I've never had two cats at once and I love watching them groom each other and fall asleep all over each other in one big kitty pile. We couldn't be happier!!

Graduation Day

DSC_0211

Maggie and Jason recently moved to Tacoma and were getting settled into their new home.   Everything was near perfect, but one thing was missing... a little kitty companionship.

Maggie had been following the IBKC  for some time, and once the Wiggins were introduced on the blog, she emailed me.  I could tell from her letter of introduction that she and  Jason were just the kind of folks we like to adopt our kittens to,  so we were excited to have them over for a meet and greet.

The meeting went great.  All the kittens were especially cute and charming that evening, and I think they could of easily picked any pair.  They decided that each would pick their first pick, and Maggie picked Susanna, and Jason picked Buster.

On Sunday,  Maggie and Jason came to pick up the kittens.

They had just returned from vacation, and we so excited to be bringing home their babies.   And we couldn't be more excited that they were the ones who adopted them.

Here are a few moments from our last morning with Buster and Susanna:

She Wears Her Heart on Her Sleeve

Ever since this little girl moved in with us, I've been trying to get a picture of the little heart she wears on her sleeve.

It's not the greatest picture ever ,, but you get the idea.

Final Family Pics

Well, we said goodbye to 50% of the Wiggins family this weekend.  Before they left, they all settled down long enough to get a few final family pictures.

What a beautiful little litter.   And such little loves they are.

We've got a couple of them around until the weekend, so do not fret, there will be plenty more of these cutie-pies this week.

Tomorrow we'll start with the departure tale of Miss Tilda Tortellini.

The Return of the Kitten Whisperer/ Kitten Magnet

He's back!   My dad, aka The Kitten Whisperer, aka The Kitten Magnet,  is here for a visit. As you can see, the Wiggens love him.   What's not to love?  He's warm,  he likes to nap too....

Susanna Rose is particularly fond of him.  She's been spending a lot of time perched on his shoulder.  He likes to call her Susanna Rosannadanna.

It's pretty sweet.

Kitten Kin

When I first brought these Wiggins home,  Craig was at work, so I emailed him a picture of the brood.  His response was  "I think we've had kittens from that factory before".    I think he might be right.   They could easily be kin to the  Lively bunch,  Darlings or  Drapers.

Oh, Susanna

Our friend Mari, from Finland, selected the name for our sweet little calico.

She wanted to name a kitten after our friend Sue from Pitter Pats.  The Finnish form of Susan is "Susanna", pronounced fairly closed to the old-fashioned "Susannah".

SO, this dear little one had been graced with the name "Susanna Rose".

It's lovely.  Just like our lovely friend, Sue.
