A Tressa and Neville Update

A couple weeks back I bumped into Tressa and Neville's pa, Galen and his girlfriend, Emily. It was great to see them both and hear about how well Tressa and Neville are doing.

They are the TOTAL loves of his life, and he's so happy he adopted the pair. Then proud papa pulled out his phone, and showed me a sweet picture of the kittens.

Later that day, Emily was kind enough to send me a few pictures of the pair. They are just such lovely cats. I love how Neville's once-tiny spot of orange on his nose has turned into a giant patch on his face. Tressa is such a beauty now. Her coat is just phenomenal.

It's so good to see them both again. Thanks Galen and Emily. You've made me (and I'm sure blog-land too) very happy! Give those kitties some love from all of us!

And thanks to all those who got us over the FIVE squillion mark! It's so, so, so, amazing. We are ROCKING it!

Lots of Love

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought I would share a few of my favorite lovey-dovey kitten moments from the IBKC archives.

First up, this sweet little moment with Tressa and Neville Loy. Sigh.

Nice to See You Again!!

A huge thanks to Emily for sending the pic and update! It's so nice to "see" Tressa and Neville again!

It's clear these two are so happy to be together! I love how Tressa's got her arms on her brother's shoulders.

It sounds as though Miss Tressa was a bit of a shy little girl at first, but now she's totally warmed up and has become a COMPLETE sweetheart!

Neville adjusted a little faster, and now has transformed into a little troublemaker. He loves to pounce on unsuspecting sleeping feet. (I seem to recall Harlan and Nelson's Pa reporting similar bad habits,,,it must be genetic) When he's not too busy, he loves getting a little love.

He still likes to ride on shoulders. He'll wait on the couch or bed. When you come close, he'll paw the ground and look up at you, then climb up your body and perch on your shoulders.

Thanks again, Emily. It's always nice to catch up with the kittens!!

I'll be traveling back home today. I won't make it back before the Humane Society closes, but first thing tomorrow, I'll be knocking on their door. It doesn't sound like there will be any sort of wait for kittens. Lately, they've been quite plentiful.

I've still got a few more picture of the Lovejoys to share with you. So, even after the new babies arrive, I'll keep posting until I'm all done.

Hopefully this time tomorrow there will be some new babies to meet!

It's rare that any kitten is allowed to go upstairs. That's Drewey's domain. Because Neville was such a good boy, we let him do a little exploring up there while Drewey was outside napping on the deck.

The upstairs is just one big, long open carpeted room. If you asked Neville, I think he would say it's a wonderful space for a cat. The stairs are a thrill to climb. It's to fun snake between the rungs of the banister. You can run much faster on carpet than on slick wood floors downstairs . It's really toasty up there AND there are excellent sun spots for napping.

Plenty More to Come

Poor Little Neville

The Lovejoys are gone, but I still have oodles of pictures left to post. They were quite the photogenic bunch. I probably took at least few thousand pictures of them during their stay with us.

I'll be heading out of town for the next 10 days, and as soon as I get home, we'll get us a fresh batch of kittens.

Until then, I'll be posting the last of the Lovejoy pictures. I've saved some of the best for last, so I think you'll enjoy them.

We'll start with this little series of Neville in the center of a pile of pink paw pads.

Tomorrow,, I've got some pictures of Tressa and her naked little belly to share with you.

I'm Raising a Circus Cat

circus cat
For the past couple of weeks, Neville and I have been working on a little act.

Whenever I pick him up, he automatically scrambles up to my left shoulder. He'll walk around my neck, then position himself on my right shoulder. He LOVES sitting up there.

If I start to move, he'll flop his belly over my shoulder and push his weight against my neck to secure himself.

He'll stay put while I walk around, do my chores, work on crafts, whatever. He is completely happy to be perched on my shoulder and he'll stay there for quite some time. It's really quite remarkable.

Yesterday while we were waiting our turn in the foster room, Neville sat patiently on my shoulder while the other Lovejoys napped in the carrier.

It was a little chaotic in there. Lots of people were coming and going, kitties and cats were crying, and the phone was ringing. Neville just sat there, taking it all in. Of course everyone who came in the room had to give him some love and comment on how adorable he is.

We're still refining our act, but as soon as we're ready to take our show on the road, we'll let you know.

When It's Time to get Clean, You Turn to The Bean

When it's time to get clean, turn to The Bean

Usually by this age, the kittens are pretty good at keeping themselves clean. They love Charlene, but prefer to have her as wresting and romping partner rather than their own personal groomer.

Not Neville, He still loves a good bath from the Buttebean. He'll let her lick him from head to tail, ear to ear, and purr the whole time she's doing it.

PS. You can click on the pic for a larger view.

Ain't That Just a Kick in the Head

Ain't that just a kick in the head.
Poor Nelson. There he was, just minding his on business, taking his morning nap with Tressa and Harlan. Neville was WIDE awake and decided that he would rile up the pile and try to find a wresting partner. He took on Harlan , but Nelson got the worst of it.

Boys, Bellies, Backsides

Lovejoy Boys from Above
I thought I'd post an aerial shot of the Lovejoys Boys so you can see the identifying marks on their backsides.

From left to right, it's Neville, Harlan and Nelson.
You can see Harlan has the most orange, Neville the least, and Nelson has a medium amount.

I love their shapes. I'm not exactly sure how kittens grow, but it seems that they grow rounder, then longer, then taller, then rounder again. Right now, they're in a round phase and they look like stubby little bowling pins.

Brothers and Baths

DSC_1051

Neville loves giving the bath, Nelson loves getting it. Harlan loves his brothers dearly, but can bathe himself, thank you.
