#40 Give Us a Big High-Five Hubie!

We've had many happy moments during our years of fundraising, but that first time when we hit the big $20 Squillion goal, well, that was pretty awesome.

#39  Happy Birthday Butterbean!

Another Butterbean birthday made the list! For her 4th, I put together a little Bean retrospective movie. I haven't watched this in a long time, so for me, it was really sweet to go back and look at these pictures from her first four years. Gosh, I love that girl.

#38  A Big Batch of Bean and Friends

More Bean on the list! Here's a collection of some of the sweet moments she's shared with the babies.  The last picture in the post shows Bean with our very first batch of foster kittens. You can see she took to her role as foster mom right away.

This image below just melts me. The kitten in the picture is one of the Mayfields, but I couldn't tell you which one.

A big thanks to all the families of these former IBKs for sharing photos of your babes all grown up. It's so nice seeing all these happy, healthy faces again!

I'm hoping that after seeing so many of these awesome IBKC success stories, you might feel inspired to pay a visit to our FUNdrasing page, and make a little donation to help other awesome kittens find awesome families.  Every little bit helps! Every little bit is appreciated!

I've got a few more alumni updates to share, and if I don't get them up today, I'll sprinkle them in next week.

Spoonin'

Who are these lovely spoonin' kittens? Well, no other than Hubie and Lucinda Darling! A huge thanks goes out to Trish, their mama, for sharing this awesome moment with us. It warms my heart to see that they are still so cuddly and close.

Lucinda and Hubie Darling

I went through the IBKC archives to see if there was another cuddly pic of this pair from their early days with us, and ran across this image. I think this might be my all-time-favorite napping kitty moments. There area few more in the series, and if you would like to see them, click here.

Thanks again, Trish. It's so good to see these Darling kittens again!

Is it Safe to Come Out Yet?

DSC_0666
It was a loud, long day, but everyone survived the 4th. In addition to the ka-booms from the fireworks show at night, there was a lot of noise from the airshow during the day. Both kittens and big cats did a lot of diving behind and under furniture all day long.

They were frightened, but not completely freaked out.

And Hubie and Lucinda did great on Friday. Their surgeries went just fine. They were a little bit out of it when I picked them up, but by the time we got home, all was well. They ate dinner then zipped about the house like nothing even happened.

Selma, Francine and Rhoda will hopefully go in this week, then yes we'll start saying goodbye. ALMOST everyone is spoken for...

A Message from Hubie

DSC_0787.JPG

Hi Everyone,, Hubie here. It's Friday, which means we get our weekly allowance. We earn it by helping out around the house. We pick up our toys, we chase out the dust bunnies from beneath the furniture and sometimes we even help fold laundry.

Normally I blow my entire allowance on toys and treats, but this week I'm going to put it to better use. I've decided to donate it to the IBKC Fundraiser for our Humane Society.

I really don't need any new toys. We haven't chewed off the tails of our furry mice yet. If mom pulls out the refrigerator, I bet we would find at least a dozen mylar balls under there.

And I really don't need any treats. Have you seen my belly lately? It's so round. All the dots on my belly have turned to dashes!

I know my donation is small, but every bit helps. And there are lots of kittens down at the shelter right now that need our help.

I think humans get paid on Fridays too. Maybe you could donate a little to the Humane Society instead of spending it all on toys and treats this weekend? Just a thought.

Lots of love,,

IBK Hubie
