Our Fifteen Floofiest Foster Kittens

Judging by the reactions we get whenever we introduce a floofy foster kitten,  it's clear you're fans of the very hairy. I thought it might be fun to put together a list of our favorites,  so I spent some time digging through the archives and found our fifteen floofiest foster kittens!

Here they are in no particular order...

Squeebe Phoebe and Geraldine!

A couple of months back, I had the pleasure of joining Phoebe,  Geraldine, and their family for a wonderful lunch at their home.  It was a joy spending time with them again!  The girls grew up to be quite lovely and delightful, as you might have guessed they would.

Remember how adorable they were as tiny kittens?

As you can clearly see, both are equally gorgeous in their own distinctive ways.   Phoebe is classic tabby perfection and Geraldine is a floofy masterpiece.

Their family loves them SO much, and they have shared with me many times how grateful they are to have these special kittens in their life.

Lucky kittens.  Lucky humans!   Lucky me getting to see them again!

We've cleared $2000 of the match, and we are on the home stretch now!!!   Just $500 and we are there!  Care to help make that happen?    Visit our FUNdraising page

And when we meet that match,  we'll have another alumni update!!

It's Squueeeebe-Phoebe!!!

As promised, I've got a little Phoebe Dearborn update for you today.

For the newbies in the crowd, I want to direct you to our introduction to this tiny tabby.  She has a pretty amazing story.  Click HERE to give it a read.

Here's Miss Phoebe on the day she moved in with us.

Here she is on the day she left our nest.

And here she is today!!!

MIss Phoebe 2-12

What a lovely young lady she is!   So sleek and beautiful!!  According her mom, Amy, she's the more cautious of the pair, but very, very loving.

Finally, a sweet picture of the girls all cuddle up together.

A little more from their mom...

They are such a joy and we love them so much!  We really believe we have the best kitties ever! They love and play with each other constantly. We truly believe that they were always meant to be ours!

How nice.  : )

Thank you again, Amy, for the sweet photos and updates on your girls.   We think they were meant to be yours, too. We're thrilled they bring so much joy into your lives.

Little Visitors

We had a couple of little visitors this morning.  Opal and her little brother, Ellis, came over to see the kittens.  Opal also wanted to bring by her annual donation.

DSC_0251

First, they met Geraldine and Phoebe who were bouncing around the living room.  Both girls have had experience with little ones, and did very well with Ellis and Opal.

DSC_0252

Ellis was as entertained by the kitten toys as he was by the kittens.

Next, we went into the guest room to meet the Batsels.  Everyone came out to say hello, but Clifford was the  most comfortable.   Opal claimed "MOM, he wants to come home with me".    I have to admit, he was quite happy in her arms.

We had a nice visit, and before Opal left, she gave the kittens her donation.   She brought four quarters, four nickels, four dimes, and four pennies for the kitties.

That's from her very own piggy bank, too

Bless your generous little soul, Opal.

Charlene Buttercream

Shortly after we rolled past FIFTY SQUILLION, while we were still dancing in the living room, Marguerite from the Humane Society surprised us with treats for humans and felines too!

Check it out!  She brought us a BEAN cake!!

DSC_0211

The Dearborns, yes, that's right,  Geraldine and Phoebe,  were more excited by the decorations on the package than the cake. Of course they were, feather wands are FUN.

DSC_0371

After they grew bored of the feather wands, they moved on to  their very favorite plume,  Butterbean's tail.

SO, what are  Phoebe and Geraldine doing here?   Well, they're  here for one last shift on the phones, of course.   Sure we reached our goal, but we're committed to two more days of FUNdraising, and we're hoping to squeak out a few more squillions if we can. And I think we can do it.

Well, That Must of Been Quite a Party

DSC_0150

No party?  Oh, of course, you had an awfully busy day on the phones yesterday. They're just exhausted.

Yesterday we had them hopping with our matching donation challenge and our day dedicated the the foster program.   You'll be happy to know because of  Ms Lillian Lincoln and your generous donations, we raised over $3 squillion for the program! Excellent!!!

The girls are tired, let's let them rest.   Don't worry, you can still donate.  All you have to do is pay a visit to our fundraising page.

We've got 14 days until our fundraiser ends, and still have a long way to go.  To make a tax-deductible donation and help homeless cats and kittens out, please visit here.

Thanks so much for your support!

Live from the IBKC Fundraising Headquarters!

Good afternoon, friends. Today we've got a special guest post. A dear friend who writes under the pen name "Kathryn Litterio" provided today's FUNdraiser story. Enjoy...

Brrrrrrriiiiinnnngggggg! Brrrrrrriiiiinnnngggggg! Brrrrrrriiiiinnnngggggg!

Donor: No one seems to be answering! I guess we’ll have to call back later.

Charlene: KITTENS???? Hello, Dearborns??? Who’s manning the phones now?

DSC_0029

(small kitten voice) Psssst…..It’s Geraldine’s shift, but she’s texting again!

DSC_0005

Charlene: G E R A L D I N E ! ! ! !

Geraldine: Huh? What? What’d I do???

DSC_0008

Charlene: Girl, you have to jump on that phone as soon as it rings! People are calling with their contributions to the Dogathon. We can’t make them wait!

DSC_0047

Charlene: Okay, maybe you misunderstood what I meant by “jumping on the phone.” Calm down, honey, I’m not angry with you. I know you have so much to say and lots and lots of friends.

Geraldine: I think I’ve got the hang of it now, Charlene. I’m sorry to be texting and Tweeting when I should have been on the phones. It’s back to work now! Here comes another call!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiinnnnng.

Geraldine: Hello, this is Itty Bitty Kitty Committee Telethon Headquarters – Geraldine speaking! I’d be happy to take your pledge now! Oh, you’ll be giving $25? Thank you very much! The Humane Society will put it to good use for the kitties. Have a nice day!

DSC_0060

Geraldine: :::::ducking under desk::::::: Just one more Tweet and I have to update my Facebook page and then I have to get back to Sheldon about changing shifts with him and I meant to text Marla about that sparkleball flea market on Saturday….

DSC_0053

Charlene: Oh, Geraldine. You’re the world’s best social networker!!

DSC_0024

Thanks for the laugh, "Kathryn"!

And thanks to everyone for keeping our FUNdraiser clipping along. We're nearly half way to our goal! Just $1700 and we hit $25 squillion! We're all really looking forward to passing that milestone!

And maybe if things heat up a bit, we'll pass it today!!

If you would like to help make that happen, please visit our FUNdraising page, and make a tax-deductible donation!

Thanks, friends! xo xo

Jay Meets Geraldine

This our nephew Jay.  He came to visit us this weekend, and was very excited to meet the kittens.  We told Jay, that if he was very still, the kittens would come to him.   So he was very still.   And he waited.

DSC_0015

And he waited.

DSC_0016

And finally,  brave little Geraldine came over to check him out.

DSC_0022

And he waited some more while she came a little closer.

DSC_0017

And waited a little more.

DSC_0023

And Geraldine sniffed his fabulous curls.

DSC_0026

And it was all worth the wait.
