Bottomless Basket of Kittens

I bought this pink basket for Charlene when she was just a tiny tot. She slept in it for her first year, then outgrew it. Now, it belongs to the kittens.

Every single litter we've had has curled up in this basket. Oh, the memories it holds.
(and thank goodness it's machine washable)

Here's a little sampling of the cuteness this basket has contained.

The Last Day with the Girly-Girls

DSC_1644.JPG
Yesterday was our last day with Lottie and Willamena. I'll tell you the whole story in days to come. We're all a little drained after saying goodbye so many times this week. I don't think I have the energy to tell the tale right this second. For now, I'll share with you some pictures of their last day. I love how girly they look on the pink bedspread. ( which was a gift from Sue. Thanks again Sue!)

Willamena and Lottie really seemed to be savoring the last moments they had together. They stayed very close to each other all day long.

Today Lottie and Willamena will be going in to be spayed. FINALLY ! I didn't think these two would ever make weight. Kim's dropping them off at Met Vet first thing this morning, and they should be back early this afternoon. I'll keep you posted on how everything goes.

So please think good thought for these little lovelies. It's such a big day for them !!!

Don't be scared girls! You'll be in good hands.

Tipping the Scale at Two Pounds !

DSC_0523.JPG

DSC_0520.JPG

Finally ! I didn't think they would ever get there! Now that they've reached the two pound mark, they can be spayed. Hopefully Met Vet will be able to fit them in later next week.

Over the past couple of weeks we've had a flurry of meet and greets with the kitties and their potential new parents. I have some exciting news share.

I think I'll wait until Monday to make the announcement(s) though... so stay tuned!

Just the Two of Us

lottie and willamena

lottie and willamena

It sure is quiet with just two kittens. I think Willamena and Lottie have been enjoying a little one-on-one time with each other. They been rolling around and wrestling. They've given each other baths. They've sat in the window and watched leaves blow by on this blustery day. They've batted at Charlene's twitching tail. They've snacked, they've napped.

I'm sure they'll be happy to be reunited with Cornelius and Maddie this afternoon. I know I will. I am sure they're doing just fine at the vet, but I can't stop thinking about them.
