Alumni Update on a Couple of Former FUNdraisers!

DSC_0721

DSC_0812

I always look forward to an update from Joy on her beautiful girls, Betty June and Camille Suprenant (now Mei and Riza) because I know there are  always going to be some lovely photographs.

Well, she didn't disappoint with this update!

Here's what Joy had to say:

I've been meaning to send you an update on the girls, so here are some recent photos of them. It's hard to believe they are now six years old, and that we're coming up again on the anniversary of their "gotchya" day again.

I still remember coming over for a meet and greet, having Mei (then Betty June) crawl into my lap and fall asleep, and thinking, "Well, that decides that." Mei still likes to crawl into my lap and fall asleep, but that's quite a different experience with a 9 lb fully grown cat! It often involves her shoving my computer off my lap when I'm trying to get stuff done. Mei is still the more outgoing of the two girls. When I have visitors, she always comes out to supervise and investigate. She also likes to carry toys in her mouth around the apartment while howling the victory song of her people.

Riza (formerly Camille) is just a complete lovebug. Though she can be a little shy, she's incredibly affectionate with people that she knows. She seeks out scritches and petting, and will push her head under my hand if I'm not giving her the attention that she wants. She's also the cat who is always trying to be in the same room as me. She likes to sit on my chest at bedtime and purr and purr and purr.

And though they have grown up into sleek, lazy ladycats, they are still kittens of mass destruction at heart. Mei especially takes special pleasure in knocking things off tables just for the fun of it.

I'm so glad that they're in my life. They are just the best!

Thanks for sharing you lovely cats with us today, Joy!   As always, it's great to see them again!

This is my last post for today, so I'll give you all one last reminder here on the blog that all we bring in until Midnight (Pacific Time) will go towards the Spay and Neuter programs at the shelter.

The contributions we've made in previous years have made a huge impact on the overpopulation problem in Piece County. The more we bring in, the more we can help continue to bring the numbers down.

More spayed and neutered cats = few litters of kittens coming into the shelter = more resources available to help the cats that need the most help (like neonate, senior and special need cats).

Even though we met the match today, I hope we can continue to grow this fund, because it's making a very real difference!

To make your donation, please visit our FUNdraising page.

Alright, we will see you bright and early tomorrow!  ONE BIG PUSH left and we will hit our goal! It's going to be a really great day!

Thanks so much for sticking with us through these two hard weeks. You've been amazing, and I appreciate your support so much!

Oh, This is Sweet.

I was so happy to find this dear photo in my email box this weekend.  The two lovelies in the image are Mei and Riza (formerly known as Betty June and Camille Suprenant) and it was taken by Joy, their mama. What a great moment to capture. Nice work, Joy!

These two have been buddies from their early days. Here they are "dancing" in our kitchen at about five weeks.

Hold me closer, Tiny Tabby

Thanks so much for sharing your sweet photo, Joy.  It's always nice to see the girls, and it's lovely to see the closeness they share.

Tell me, friends, do your cats live in harmony? Or do you have some kitty friction in the house?

Return of the Kittens of Mass Destruction

Oh, it's great being back on the IBKC set!

DSC_0750

We had a wonderful time FUNdraising before, didn't we?

bettyjean

FUN?  I seem to recall SOMEONE getting into a whole lot of trouble. And it wasn't me.
I think you lost your sparkle ball privileges for a week, didn't you?

DSC_0730

Oh, I think you're right. Maybe we should actually answer the phones this time.

 DSC_0666

Yes, we should.  There are kitties out there that need our help.

Camille and Betty June !!

DSC_1041

I had the pleasure of paying a visit to Camille and Betty June Suprenant last week. They are absolutely gorgeous adult kitties.   Camille (now Riza) has changed the most.  Her coat is darker and stripes have surfaced.  She even has a few belly spots too!

Betty June (now Mei) is a stunner with her plush tabby coat. Her eyes are pretty green pools and her nose is rosy pink perfection.

They're both very social and curious kittens.  They live in a lovely apartment that faces a wonderful park.  It's great for people and critter watching, too!

Joy, their mother, adores her girls.

Please take a look at the beauties they've become!

Beautiful Girls

Recognize these beauties?  It's Camille and Betty June Suprenant (now known as Riza and Mei)!!!

Riza

Crankypants

Joy, their mama, took these lovely shots of her lovely girls.   She says they're "happy, healthy and increasingly chatty".

Riza and Mei

Tight fit

They truly are stunning, aren't they?   And as close as can be.  Just like they were when they were little ones.

Hold me closer, Tiny Tabby

Here are a couple more shots of Riza and Mei as tiny tots.  No surprise they grew up to be such beautiful girls.

Two Lovely Ladies

Cuddly kitties are cuddly

Recognize these two? It's two of our Suprenant Sisters, Camille and Betty June. Now Camille goes by Riza and Betty June goes by Mei.

Riza - 8 months

Mei on her lounger

It doesn't seem possible, but these girls are ALREADY 8 months old. Really, didn't they just leave our nest?

Joy, their mom, loves her kitties dearly and is great about documenting their lives. She takes lovely photos, don't you think?

She said that she often calls Riza the belly flopper or the belly princess, because she will run into her bedroom, vault up on the bed, and then flop over and show her belly to solicit belly rubs. She especially does this in the morning when Joy is trying to leave for work, or in the evening as she is putting down my things after getting back from work.

Riza

Not so little anymore

Mei, she is basically her feline alarm clock and wakes her up most mornings by licking her forehead or the tip of her nose. (Attempts to burrow her head under the blankets are entirely futile.)

Mei

They really turned into some beautiful little ladies. No surprise there, they were so adorable as kittens.

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures and stories with us, Joy. It was a treat to "see" them again.

Before we go, here's a cute little movie of the girls. Enjoy!

The Perfect Tabby Trio

I've got so many pictures of the gorgeous Suprenant sisters left to share with you. So while we wait for Miss V's family to find their way to us, I'll continue to post some pics of the whole family. And, of course, more pics of Ve and Bean too.

Here we have beautiful Biscuit, Betty and Ve Ching. Pure tabby perfection.

Oh, Joy!

DSC_1041

DSC_1038

Joy was living down in California, and was introduced to the IBKC by a friend. She's been a faithful follower ever since.

Fast forward a few months, and Joy lands herself a job in Tacoma, and moves up the coast. She's settled into her new apartment and new life and now, it's time for kittens! And yes, the IBKC is just happened to be in her new town, so she gave us a call!

She's quite excited to be mama to her two brand new baby kitties, Camille and Betty! She has been a kitty lover for a very long time, but because her siblings were allergic to cats, she could never have on as a child.

Joy is sweet and kind, and I know she'll giver the girls a wonderful life. They are living in an apartment on the edge of a lovely park and have a wonderful view of a bounty of birds and squirrels.

Joy sent me an email and said the girls are doing well. After just ten minutes of exploring their new place, they settled down starting purring and cuddling. It sounds like they're feeling right at home.

We're Exhausted.

DSC_0869

I have so much to share, but I am dog-tired and don't even know if I'll stay awake long enough to finish this sentence.

Good night.  More soon.  Sweet dreams, sweet friends.  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

And while I have YOUR attention,  I would like to announce ANOTHER matching donation challenge from our dear friend, Cynthia!

She will be matching all of our donations, until they reach $1000. So for every dollar we donate, she'll be donating a dollar too!!

Here's a chance to double your dollars and help turn ONE squillion into TWO squillion!!  And once we do that, we'll be pretty dang close to $35 squillion!

This is the fifth of our matching donation challenges.  Last time we came really close NOT to making it.  Thanks to some well timed checks in the mail, they put us over the top in the final minutes, and turned our 1 squillion into two.    Whew. It was a nail-biter.

The challenge ends at 3:00 Pacific Time,  today.   Let's rock it, friends.

Click HERE to double your donation dollars.

Thank you , Cynthia!!   Thank you,  EVERYONE!
