Biscuit, Marie-Noir and a Match

We're starting off today with a lovely little pair from our past - Biscuit and Marie-Noir Suprenant!

Here's dear Biscuit as a wee little lady.

And the floof beauty, Marie-Noir.

And here's an update from Molly, their mom!

Hi Laurie,

It's been a few years, but I thought I'd send you an update on the girls. They've turned into wonderful, talkative, floofy, happy cats. They have a brother, Jean Luc, and they all adore each other. They take turns sleeping, grooming each other and zooming around the house at top speed. Often I'll end up with all three napping on my lap.

Biscuit (or as we call her, Temperance, or Tempe for short) is just as excited to give nose-kisses and knead as when she was a kitten. She sloooowly scootches up from your lap, to your tummy, to your chest, to around your neck if you'll let her, kneading all the way. Her noises are amazing and she is just absolutely beautiful. Sometimes she decides she's tired of being beautiful and zooms around the house with her ears pinned back, a goofy look on her face, causing trouble with her siblings (she never finishes what she starts) and making the most outrageous and amusing sounds.

Marie-Nior (or Constance) was definitely the shy one, but especially over the last year has become a delicate-voiced, richly-colored and outgoing lady. In the sunlight, she shines reddish with tabby markings (almost impossible to photograph!). She is by far the best hunter - despite being an indoor-only cat, she's caught two birds!! She loves burrowing under blankets and will even paw at you to get under a blanket-tent made by your knees. She is also the most aggressive for cuddles in the morning, if we let her in. She digs under pillows and blankets to find hands to nudge under and demand pets. It is incredibly endearing. Jean Luc is a squashy-faced, snuffly-nosed and super-plush buff boy, found by a friend and taken in to give him a good home. They love their big brother, and he loves them. He's the goofiest, chillest of the bunch.

 Hope you enjoy,

 -Molly

I did enjoy!  Thank you for sharing, Molly!  It's so nice seeing the girls again and meeting their brother too!  What a happy little bunch!

If you like Alumni Week, and I think you do,  you're going to LOVE today!   Let me explain..

Our awesome anonymous donor is back to today with a huge $2500 match!  She'll be matching our donations, dollar-for-dollar, until we reach the $2500 cap.   The match ends at 9:00 PM tonight (Pacific TIme) so we've got about 12 hours to make it happen.

To make things a little more exciting,  and help us meet the match sooner rather than later today,  I'll be posting another alumni update every time we bring in another $500 in donations.   SO if we meet the match, we'll see five more updates before the day is out!   I'm prepping the posts now, and I'll be watching the FUNdraising site close, so I'll do my very best to post the moment we roll past each $500.

It's going to be FUN!

To have your dollars doubled, and help us get closer to our goal, please visit our FUNdraising page!

Thank you awesome anonymous donor for bringing yet another great match to the table.   And thank you Molly for the update.  And thank you everyone for all this amazing support.

The Perfect Tabby Trio

I've got so many pictures of the gorgeous Suprenant sisters left to share with you. So while we wait for Miss V's family to find their way to us, I'll continue to post some pics of the whole family. And, of course, more pics of Ve and Bean too.

Here we have beautiful Biscuit, Betty and Ve Ching. Pure tabby perfection.

Goodbye Girls

DSC_1117

DSC_1067

The kitten population in our house has drastically decreased. In the past few days, we've said to goodbye to two pairs, and now just Ve Ching remains.

First to go, were Miss Biscuit and Marie-Noire.

For quite some time, Molly had been following the IBKC. She was wanting to adopt a pair of kittens, but was waiting to finish up college and do a little traveling before committing to a pair.

When she was ready, Molly , who just happens to be the twin sister of Claire, who adopted Thelma and Ridley Lyttleton, sent me an email introducing herself. She came down to meet the girls shortly after they moved in with us. Even though she had her eyes on another pair, she ended up choosing Biscuit and Marie-Noire. As you can see, Biscuit worked her magic, and Charmed Miss Molly immediately.

Molly waited patiently for her kittens to grow. As soon as they hit two pounds, off they went for surgery, then off they went to Molly.

She's sent me an update already. The girls settled in fast, and everyone is happy and doing well. There's lots of kitten antics and neck nuzzling going on.

So, I guess technically, Biscuit and Marie-Noire and now cousins to Ridley and Thelma. Yay for kitty cousins!

And YAY for happy kittens and happy adopters!!

Tell me Please, Are We There Yet?? !!

DSC_1067

We're almost there, Biscuit. Almost.

It's midnight now. I just checked our total, and it looks like we've got to raise $3,705 to meet our $40 squillion goal. With so many squillions behind us now, it absolutely feels within our reach.

I'm so excited to see this day unfold!

I'm getting up early tomorrow, taking a couple of the girls in for surgery (YES it's time already) and then I'll be planting myself at my computer for the duration. Expect lots of posts, lots of pictures, frequent updates, and hopefully, by the time the day is done, LOTS of cheering!

Thank you EVERYONE for all your amazing support. Thank you for sticking around for the duration. Thank you for wanting to reach this goal as much as we do, and thank you for helping us make it happen.

Getting them to sit still is one thing,,,, getting them to focus is another...

And while I have YOUR attention,  I would like to announce ANOTHER matching donation challenge from our dear friend, Cynthia!

She will be matching all of our donations, until they reach $1000. So for every dollar we donate, she'll be donating a dollar too!!

Here's a chance to double your dollars and help turn ONE squillion into TWO squillion!!  And once we do that, we'll be pretty dang close to $35 squillion!

This is the fifth of our matching donation challenges.  Last time we came really close NOT to making it.  Thanks to some well timed checks in the mail, they put us over the top in the final minutes, and turned our 1 squillion into two.    Whew. It was a nail-biter.

The challenge ends at 3:00 Pacific Time,  today.   Let's rock it, friends.

Click HERE to double your donation dollars.

Thank you , Cynthia!!   Thank you,  EVERYONE!

Betty's a Real Charmer. So is Biscuit.

DSC_0823

I really hate to play this card.  I do. But I've given it a lot of thought, and because we have just FOUR days left of fundraising,  and we still have a few squillion to go before we reach our goal, I'm going to have to do it.

DSC_0831

OK,  here we go.   No one, I mean no one (bats eyelashes) can resist (bats eyelashes) a kitten giving you a big-eyed  (bats eyelashes) melty look.   So now (batts eyelashes) that you're under my spell  (batts eyelashes)  please click here, and help us reach our goal.

BISCUIT !   I think I need your help!  There's too many of them out there.  I don't think I can do this on my own.   BISCUIT!

DSC_0872

Give me a minute... I'm trying (bats eyelashes) to work this one over (bats eyelashes).   I think it might be working.   Wow.  Who knew we tiny kittens had such power!

More sparkle balls please.  (bats eyelashes).    I would like some tuna. (bats eyelashes) Please heat it up in the microwave for twenty seconds first. (bats eyelashes)  Let's play with the feather wand.  (bats eyelashes)

Click HERE to help us reach our goal!   Just four days left,,, so please don't delay!
