Why So Grumpy, Wylla?

Normally we roll from one litter to the next this time of year when kittens are flooding into the shelter, but I've got plans to do some traveling in the middle of June, and there's not enough to get a litter in and out of here before I go, so we're going to have to wait until I get home before we can flip the "Vacancy" sign back on.

I know you're itching for more babies, but I'm sorry, you're going to have to wait a spell.

So is Wylla. And she's not too thrilled about it.

Don't worry, we'll do our very best to keep you entertained during this brief recess!   To help fill the days, I plan to share lots of Alumni Updates, so all of you IBK parents out there, please send us some photos and tell us what your kitties have been up to lately! Please share any great stories and amusing kitty anecdotes. Tell us about any big changes in their lives.  Can they do any neat tricks?  We would love to hear ALL about the big cats they've become!

You can email your photos updates HERE, and please send them no later than Wednesday, June 8th.  I need a little time to prep the posts before I hit the road, so please don't delay!

Once I return from my travels, FUNdraising season will begin!  Our next batch of babies will be staffing our phone bank AND we will be auctioning off the rights to name this litter!

There's LOTS of fun to come this summer, so do stay tuned!!

  1. Cheer up Wylla.

That pic really shows how she's now rivaling her big sister in the floof department.

    1. I think that's the floofiest she's ever been.

  2. A perfect picture of grumpiness -- Wylla doesn't want Mom to go travelling and she definitely wants more itty bitties. Patience, dear Wylla, Mom will return and kittens will come. With all her grumpiness, it still is a beautiful photo. Wishing you safe journey :)

  4. Wylla looks so pouty. I am always impressed by the expressiveness of our kitty friends' faces.

  5. There is nothing funnier to me than a grumpy-faced cat. It always makes me laugh to see them pouting like this (and if you laugh in their presence it just makes them grumpier, lol). I had a tiny floofy tortie myself for 18 years and she was *always* sulking about something or other, even though she was doted on continually and her life was very sweet. I used to call the look "vaguely dissatisfied" -- she did not like that, heh heh. I miss that teeny grumpy girl.

    cheer up, little Wylla! :)

  6. Wylla is such an expressive kitty! Now, that's she's a full-fledged kitten wrangler, it must be hard waiting for her next fix/litter.

    1. Nope. Now that she's healthy she can stay at home with Bean.
