More Kitty Milestones

pickets 161Jerry Lee Pickett
I have to wonder, does Jerry Lee know he doesn't have a tail? At first, he was a little bit more of a wobbly walker than the rest, but now he's doing really great. It just took him a while longer to figure it all out because he's missing his "rudder".

He too is using the littler box. He also is drinking from the water bowl and eating crunchies too. This weekend all the kittens got to try wet cat food. Beulah is starting to push the babies off her when they try to nurse, so the weaning has begun.

  1. Yay! We're eating kitty kibbles now!!! And the litter box too! I'm sure Beulah is breathing a sigh of relief that her work load is starting to drop a tiny bit - not having to help the babies have to go to the bathroom all the time has got to be like a vacation!

In the two pictures, Jerry Lee has quite the little determined pout on his face. This little bunch of kittens is quite the group of precious pouters!

Glad he's overcoming having no tail though - I bet its been difficult for him until he compensates for not having one!

  5. The expression on his poutin' puss in the 2nd shot (not sure who's tail that is!) is so precious!

It kinda looks like he is thinking something along the lines of " What is THAT thing???!!!! "

Such a sweetie....all that energy for a tail went into the pout and the paws!

  6. I wwould love to have a kitty like that. For some reason I have a weakness for grey and orange kitties. But well, I actually i Love them all...

  7. The Picket Pout! I love it! It's so perfect to describe. They have that little attitude in their faces - I don't know if it's the shape of their mouths or what. But too, too precious (and makes me want to rain smoos all over their dear little faces!). I remember someone once said Lovell's face looked like a disgruntled rabbit... :-)

  8. OMG! I love Jerry Lee - he is my special IBK! In the 2nd pic (like KatBoxJanitor said) he's looking at that tail with such the "what IS that???" expression! I love that little guy!

    [ka-thunk!]

  9. Well, Katboxjanitor and Darin beat me to it on the look of consternation on his face re: the sibling tail. From the look of those enormous thumbs, he should be able to balance pretty well without the rudder though. Babies are getting all growed up. Take a deep breath, Beulah Mae. You done good!

  10. So fun to get to eavesdrop on the kitty's "process" - thank you so much for sharing!

  11. Oh that face! Especially in the second picture, where Jerry Lee's ears are tilted forward, and the M on his forehead (for "Mischief?) is kinda scrunched up. The perfect picture of kitty concentration.

It looks to me that Jerry Lee's staring at, um, his sibling's "belly button." (That's what that part of kitty anatomy is known as in our family, having been dubbed as such years ago by a 3 year-old.)

  14. I think young Jerry Lee knows that his tail-less status will garner him some extra cute points :)
