A "Fetching" Young Lad

DSC_5542

Mose Fishkin is playing fetch! We've always known that he's one smart little dude, but still, we were surprised at how quickly he mastered this game!

Last night I tossed the ball, and he returned it 18 times in a row. EIGHTEEN TIMES!

The boy is brilliant!  And, he has an impressive attention span for a wee kitten.

See for yourselves. Take a look at this "fetching" young lad.

  1. There are soooo many things I love about this video! First of all, I can imagine little Mose thinking "Foster Mama is wearing me OUT! She keeps dropping her toy and I have to go get it for her!!" Then, the brief pause at the trackball. And last, but not least, the quick (and certainly smug) glance at Wylla as if to say "I'm Foster Mama's little helper!" Too much cute!

  2. Am I the only one who was hoping to see all 18 fetches? 😊

  3. When she was younger, my Sophie loved to play fetch with her "shmousie." She's 17 now and only plays with feather wands, but she was really good at it!

  8. I love it! I have a fetch cat too! He brings me milk rings & toys when he wants to play, usually trying to drop them right in my drink. I often wake up in bed with a toy on my pillow <3

  9. What a cutie! Credit must be given to both Wylla and Sidney for the restraint to not go after the ball too. It's like they knew it was his and they were just there to watch his amazing skills.

  10. My boy LOVED to play fetch when he was younger. He's almost 13 now and he only does it occasionally, but he was an awesome fetcher.

  11. That is adorable! Our black haus panther, Abby, loves to play fetch, but only with certain things. His favorite is a raggedy old silver bow, the kind you put on gifts. He won't play with gold, red, or green ones, only silver. He likes to jump up and catch it mid-air, too. He's a bit on the chunky side, so I don't throw it too high, but it's good exercise for him. His brother, Tig, looks at him like he's nuts and Abby makes sure to look Tig right in the eye when he passes by with the bow in his mouth - just to let him know whose bow it is. As if Tig cares! Hahaha.

  12. A very fetching little bear, indeed. He'll be quite the catch when he and his brother are available for adoption. ;)

  13. My twins, Ming and Ling, were the first cats I've had that played fetch. I was told at the time it was a Siamese thing. They taught their younger sister, Inca, how to do it, too. It's still a fun game we play, even at 13 and 9 years old.

  14. My tortie girl cat fetches too! Foil balls, rubber bands. It's soo adorable, and practical! I'll be sitting at my desk and hear a little thump, and she'll have dropped a ball, wanting me to throw it.
