Our First Auction is Up: Select a Surname!

DSC_0531

As I mentioned earlier, we're auctioning off the rights to name our current litter of foster kittens. We've done it several times before throughout our FUNdraising history, and it's always a big hit!

We're starting with the surname auction and the first-name auctions for the four kittens will follow over the next couple of days.

So how will this work?  You are not bidding on the ACTUAL kittens, just the right to select a surname for the group.  The auction bidding starts at $50, but if you if your wallet's feeling fat and you MUST be the one to select the surname, there is a "buy it now" auction and you can win instantly for $3000.

At the close of the auction, the winning bidder will be contacted, they will reveal the name they've selected,  and it will be announced on the blog.

In addition to the naming rights, you will also receive a 5" x 7" unframed photograph of the kittens you have named.

The value of naming rights is $5, and should the sale price exceed this amount, and of course it will, the exceeding amount will be tax-deductible. The shelter will provide you with a tax receipt for your records after the auction ends.

To get in on the surname auction action, please click HERE! The auction runs for 24 hours and will end at 11:00 AM  Pacific Time on July 12th.

I know it's REALLY tempting to make name suggestions during this process, I have a very hard time not doing it myself, but unless they ask for our help, let's try to keep those ideas under our hats. Let's let the lucky winner come to their decision without our ideas or influence. Thank you!

I CAN'T  WAIT to find out their last name!!  Are you excited, too?????

  3. I always enjoy all of the naming auctions. Not just fur the meowla raised to help kitties, but the STORIES behind the selection.

  4. I've really loved some of the names people have come up with for past auctions, so I'm looking forward to the result of this one, and the first names especially.
