Producing Content

I have to say, it can be challenging blogging five times a week when we're kitten-less. Not much happens in the daily lives of two adult house cats, so it can be difficult finding stories to extract that I feel are interesting enough to share with all of you.

I was talking to Craig about this dilemma last night, and when the conversation wrapped up, I went in search of the cats.

I found Charlene sitting on the rug in the guest room. She was mid-bath, and she paused when I entered the room.

With my hands at my hips, I leaned over her and said  "I need some content! Can't you guys do something interesting?"

Without missing a beat, Bean hopped to her feet began heaving, and two seconds later she produced a hairball on the rug and right at my feet. She gave me a look that said "That's all I got," and licked her lips.

It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I thanked Bean for her effort, and went to the kitchen for a roll of paper towels.

Don't worry, I won't be sharing any photos of the "content" she produced.

How 'bout just a picture of our lovely, slightly cross-eyed girl.

  3. Please don't make yourself crazy by trying to find content for 5 days! I love all your posts but would definitely not mind at all if you didn't post every day. We want you to love doing this and not burn out! I think all your blog readers would understand. :o)

  5. Personally I love the strolls down Memory Lane of past kittens. But I snorted when I read this. Yep, you asked for "content" and Charlene delivered!

  6. I am still feeling the bliss of yesterday's "forgotten" treasures. I'm doling them out one by one to cheer up my 89-year-old mother - with great results.

  7. Pixel has become so considerate about heaving... she'll do a little of it to get my attention. And then gives me JUST enough time to run for a paper towel to put down and then she does her business. So considerate!

  8. Let's send a shout out to alumni to give us updates then ;)
We are in autumn and thank goodness the kittens have slowed a bit here. My cat pleasures have recently tripled with my neighbour cat finally condescending go talk to me and discovering I'm a dab hand with a brush, and my 80 Y/o Mum adopting a lanky tabby boy who had need of a forever home but was being overlooked because the kittens were cute

  14. Thanks for not sharing her "content" - I get enough at my own home. A suggestion for kitten-less blogging - "guest kittens". You could have readers send a picture and little bio about a cat/kitten they are currently fostering. With readers all over the country it could even facilitate an adoption. Of course there would have to be a Bean or Wylla update first but it might help our need for a kitten fix.

  15. That's what Charlene thinks of content on demand requests. Lol.

  20. I am so very VERY grateful for your blog! It's some of the happiest funnest stuff there is on the internet! One suggestion I would have - maybe share some of your solutions to common foster problems -- like, how to introduce solid foods, how to bathe and dry a baby kitten without it getting cold, how to persuade a teeny kitten to suck a bottle when they don't like it -- etc.? I know some of the problems would be more family friendly than others :-) but I would love to benefit as a foster from your huge experience, and it would be fascinating to all!
