The Other Birthday Girl

Wylla's not the only girl celebrating her 3rd birthday today! So is Audrey Stout, her sister! First, here are the Stout girls when they were wee.

And here is Audrey today, who is now known as Freyja.  What a beauty she is!!!

There is a bit of a resemblance, don't you think? They both have such big eyes and broad noses, too.  And kitty cankles seem to run in the family.

A huge thanks to Audrey's mom, Ashley, for sharing this photo of their lovely girl. It is ALWAYS so great to see Miss Audrey again! Please give her lots of birthday love from all of us!

This concludes our day of celebration. Thanks to all for the sweet words and birthday wishes. Wylla's feeling awfully loved right now, I am sure.

  1. Happy, happy birthday to Wylla.

And I have a question for you, Laurie. You take such beautiful pictures of cats...Do you have any suggestions for taking pictures of black cats? My ebony lion is glorious, but when I try to capture that he looks like an inkblot with random eyes inserted...it's very disconcerting!

Thanks (and I'm glad Charlene got some of the "cake").

    1. I've found the best way to photography a black cat is to shoot in indirect sunlight. Also, neutral backgrounds are best. It seems that on a light background, cameras tend to overcompensate and make the blacks fill in and you lose the details.

  5. Thank you for sharing all the celebration and joy of Wylla's third birthday. She is such a special, loving cat. She (with the help of Laurie) brings us the happy moments in her life. Those moments make my day better, and flow over into the attention that the loves of my life, (Clementine and Ezekiel) get. Wylla, Charlene, Laurie and Craig make every day a better one, with or without kittens. Kittens just take it from quiet joy to the ability to be one of those lucky kittens, just for a few minutes. For that, thank you so much.

  9. Thank you, Freyja's mom, for giving her a home! I still love looking at her wacky kitten pictures. What a lovely, crazy girl.

  10. I can, indeed, see the resemblance. People who don't live with cats all the time often fail to notice the subtleties.

My first glimpse of Wylla really tickled me, too. Such an adorable little fluff ball, seemingly quilted together by God from the leftovers of about 10 other cat projects
