Patience, Please!

DSC_0636

Our little Higgenbottoms seem to be doing just fine and are adjusting well to their new surroundings. They were a bit timid at first, like most newbies are, but every day you can see their confidence grow.

They are a little older than other sets we've hosted -- I would guestimate their age to be about eight weeks --so this means their stay will most likely be a brief one.

Chesley has the most growing to do -- her brothers outweigh her by six ounces.  Socially speaking, she's the most advanced and she's usually the one crying for us to come visit them in their room. She wasn't the first to purr, but she purrs the most.

Charlene and Wylla and very curious to know who's inside that room and have been trying hard to sneak a peek.  Wylla cries at their door requesting to come in for a visit and mopey Bean just plops down on the floor and sticks her nose close to the crack beneath the door.  We still have a hair over a week to go before they will be granted access, so they will have to practice some patience!   Patience doesn't come easy to those two -- they're pretty used to getting what they want, when they want it!

  3. "Mopey Bean" -- perfect description. Not that I've seen her, but one can just picture it. It is the Flop of Frustration.

    1. Any of us owned by cats have seen our own furbaby(s) do a Flop of Frustration. We know it well! *G*

  4. I thought your headline was somehow directed at me and the number of times I've hit refresh this morning to see the new post.... truth be told, I'm about as patient as a kitten.

Are they from the same litter? They look SO different from each other. All amazingly adorable, though.

    1. Most likely they are. We've seen great diversity in litter over the years. Remember the Medleys?

  6. Why is no one talking about Chesley's eyebrows? Does she have little tufts for eyebrows, like how old men can sometimes grow those fabulously bushy brows? Or are not talking about those adorable tufts on top of her head out of consideration for a fragile ego?

    1. It will be the subject of a future blog post, don't worry!

  7. The Higgenbottoms are so sweet sitting together in their little box. I can't blame Charlene and Wylla at all: if I was living in the same house as those kittens, I couldn't possible wait two weeks (maybe two minutes though) to meet them.

  8. Looks like they're going to need a bigger box soon! Hang in there, Bean and Wylla--it'll be worth the wait.

  9. You can see how much smaller Chesley is compared to her brothers! Wasn't evident until you pictured them all together. So the Bean and Wylla really do enjoy being the big foster sisters

  11. I wonder how many times kittens popped in and out of the box before getting these fab pics? ;)

  12. LOVE the white tufts in front of Chesleys' ears! They are more evident in these photos...what a doll!

  13. Monty is such the little bear, and the white in front of Chesley's ears is just so...there. It's endearing. Harold is all fudge striped and rumpled and cute enough you want to scoop him up and love on him all day. It's going to be fabulous when your ladies finally get to meet these three.

  15. PS. I love how both Bean and Wylla enjoy the kitten fostering as much as their hoomins and the internet community does!

  16. You always post great pictures of the itty bitties, but these are way above average! I wouldn't be surprised if they're claimed before the isolation period is up.
