Meet Lila

Lila was found injured by the side of a road, most likely hit by a car. She has some scrapes and bruises, which will heal, but she also has a dislocated hip which requires surgery.

Because of the Special Needs Fund, she will be having her surgery tomorrow!

This beautiful, affectionate cat is on her way to a new life, because of you.

Meanwhile, the staff at the HS have to sneak past her enclosure, because if she catches your eye, she’ll insist on struggling to her feet to beg for head rubs!

Thank you to all who have given to this fund to help cats like Lila out!

If you would like to contribute to our Special Needs Fund today, please visit our Firstgiving page and make a tax-deductible donation. And don't forget, we've got a huge matching donation challenge happening now. For every dollar we donate, Cynthia will be matching it until we reach her $5000 cap, or until 9:00 PM, which ever happens first

Please don't delay! We've got a hair over  $1000 met and just under $4000 to go! That's a long row to hoe, but with your help, we can do it!

Thank you so much! Your support means the world to us!

  1. Oh my goodness, she's a ragdoll! No microchip? Can't believe no one is missing her. She is going to make some lucky adopter very, very happy.

  3. The special needs kitties are always my favorite to visit at my local shelter where I've volunteered. They are usually so sweet and gentle, you just want to adopt them all!

  4. You aren't, perchance, going to have a "To All the Cats We've Loved Before" day, are you?

  5. My poor sweet baby needs this same surgery. We only found out after adopting her not even 3 weeks ago. We've had to set up a fundraiser.

  6. Cynthia and Laurie, you are both the best! I'm so happy that Lila and other special needs kitties (like my Cupid :p) found their way to a place that has the support of people as amazing as you. I will be donating to the special needs fund (hopefully today!) Even though Cupid's story has been told over and over again, I have to mention how many lives HE has saved by helping me with me feral/undersocial cats and kittens. Without the special needs fund, he might not be here today, and all the feisty kitties that have ended up in my care would not have nearly as good of an outcome as they did.
