Last Night

I think my head is still spinning a bit from last night.  We got to the King's Books around 5:30 to start setting up, the crowd arrived early, I sat down and signed the first book around 6:00, and I didn't stop talking, hugging, or put down my pen once that night until the party ended after 9:00.  It was a happy, huge, intense blur.

It really was an incredible night. So many dear people attended, and so many people did so many kind and generous things to help make this night extra, extra special.  I don't think I've felt so much love and support in my entire life.  I know this sounds completely weird, but I felt so overwhelmed with gratitude last night, I nearly felt drunk.  And i wasn't drinking.  Well, I wasn't drinking THEN, but I did have a Manhattan after it was all over.  : )

I have so many details and photos to share, but honestly, I just don't have it in me today.  I am absolutely exhausted after last night's event.  My brain is tired and my body is weary.

BUT TOMORROW, I'll be back with lots to share with you and FRIDAY we'll be celebrating dear Butterbean's birthday (even though it's not until Saturday).

Thanks to all who were there last night, and there in spirit, too.

Much, much, much love,
Laurie

  4. Awwww Laurie- it was the best, It was so much fun to be there- we felt like celebrities because our kitty was in the book. It was so sweet to get to give a little love to Wylla- the calmest cat in the world.. (Maybe she had a manhattan when you weren't looking). We look forward to book 2 or IBKC:The Movie. :-)

    1. Anyone who has a certified Itty Bitty Kitty SHOULD feel special. Every kitty in the world, and every loving kitty home, is a treasure, but the IBKC is sprinkled with some extra pixie dust.

  11. I'm glad it was so exciting for you. I don't think I've seen a picture of you here. You remind me of a classmate I had in grade school. Did you go to Lincoln Fundamental in Davenport, Iowa?

  14. It was a fun party, and congratulations again on this great accomplishment! I read most of the book last night and kept interrupting Geoff to show him the squee-worthy pictures. Eventually he gave up trying to read his own book and just squee-ed along with me. I'll turn him into a cat person yet!

  17. Laurie, I'm glad the event went well and you had a great time. I read about it on Shelf Awareness and had to find out more about you and your IBKC. I work with a TNR group on the other side of the state and have fostered many kittens and have even kept a few. Thank you for all you do for the kittens and keep spreading the word about spay/neuter.
