Our Itty Bitty Tradition

not all kitties can do this

Many, actually most of you, have seen this image before.  I post it every year - it's our little Thanksgiving tradition.  That dear paw belongs to Willamena Bouvier, a wee kitten we fostered many years ago.

This picture made it to the pages of Cute Overload, and it's the reason why many of our earliest followers found their way to us.  For this, we are thankful.

And we're thankful for every single one of you in this sweet community of ours today.   I know I've said it before, and you know I'll say it again,  but you are a special bunch.  I appreciate all the support you show, and the kindness you give us each day - especially during this challenging year that we've had. I appreciate that you still come visit us every single day even though we've been kitten-less - don't worry, we'll have kittens again, just not QUITE yet. I am grateful for all the love and good wishes you've sent Wylla while we've worked to get her condition to a manageable place and her little body to grow.   I am touched by your giving ways during our fundraising season and year round too.

Honestly friends, in all the interwebs, there is other community as lovely as you. You are a huge blessing in our lives, and I am thankful for your presence.

We hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving.  We hope you share a table with those you care about the most.  We hope you are happy, healthy, and feeling loved.

We'll be taking a couple of days off to enjoy the holiday with loved ones, and will return again on Monday.

Until then, please take good care, my friends.

And have a very happy Thanksgiving day.

With much, much love,

Laurie, Craig, Charlene and Wylla

  3. Love, love, love this picture.. It turned up on another site yesterday as well, and heck if I can remember which one, but someone beat me to the punch and did give it correct credit, so who knows.. maybe more people will discover the love on these pages as well. :)

Hope that everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving, filled with family love, 2- and 4-legged. :)

  8. Awww...the happiest of Thanksgivings to all of you, and Willamena, too.

I think this year has proven that it's not JUST the kittens that makes this the happiest blog on earth.

It's been said many times that we all must take the bitter along with the sweet - and we all know this past year has had lots of both for your family. Thank you for sharing your ups and downs - we'll always support you.

  14. It seems like yesterday, when you lost wee Filbert, that you were worrying about not being able to foster kittens for a year -- and yet here we are, many months later, still as happy to visit you every day as ever. Which proves it's not just the kittens that bring this community together, it's you and your whole family and all the folks who come here to the most special kitty blog on the internet every day, I hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving, and we'll all be here for you no matter what!

  19. Dear Laurie, Craig, and Charlene,

May this be the first of many Thanksgivings that you'll share with young Wylla. Thanks for sharing your world with us and with all the kittens past and to come.

Best wishes, too, to my fellow IBKC addicts.

  22. That sure is an overload of cute. The peep is oohin' and ahhin' and to be honest, I don't know if she'll be able to stop. Yup, the picture is THAT cute.

Only one of us has the thumbs. Hmmm... I wonder if Ol' Peepers is gonna try to get Mason to do somethin' like that. Don't know. Mason is not... well... cooperative, if you know what I mean.

    1. Nope, this is the real deal, one of our polydactyl superstars. Now, I'm not saying Laurie didn't help a bit with the drawing - I mean, what 2-month old would put a buckle on a pilgrim hat on a turkey? But it's cute, so it gets a pass. Happy Holidays to all!!! love, darin

  30. Thankfulness and love right back to you, IBKC. You bring us joy and peace, just like the kitties in our homes, only without all the extra litter boxes.

  31. Aww, that's a sweet pic, which I do remember seeing before.

Also wishing a belated happy Thanksgiving to all. I sooo missed my own LG while we were away (and the neighbor was watching him). There were several perfectly nice kit-kats where we were staying but they just plain weren't my LG. Le sigh.
