Awwwwe, Thanks For the Love

DSC_0054

I think we might have broke a  record with all those comments you left yesterday!  Thank you so much for those many sweet words.

We appreciate all the warmth, the cheers, and the happy tears!

You all are the best!

We are nervous new parents, for sure,  but excited to be starting this new chapter in our lives.  Thank you for being there for us with your love and support.

xoxo

  1. No, Thank YOU, Laurie & Craig for sharing with us. I do hope adding Miss Wylla will not deter you from more fostering...We adore her face, her quizzical looks and floof-itude. But we also adore your posts on all the kittens who have been blessed with a stay with you. And Madame Drewey would be proud.

  2. Leave it to Charlene, she'll show you the way!

  3. I think Wylla will be a good foster buddy. Plus, the amount of floof in your house in shedding season will allow you to create fresh kittens just from shed fur...

  4. Look at them! They belong together.

I did have the strongest feeling about this. I kept out of the fray of commenting, because no matter what I could type, all I could think was "You're going to keep her. I just know it." Maybe it was the photos and your comments, because you were obviously falling more in love all the time.

  5. And all is right in the universe.
And I have to know- is Wylla the first IBKC alum to live in YOUR house? I can't remember if Charlene was your foster or not.

    1. Charlene had another foster home, before being adopted by Laurie and Craig:

    2. Charlene was fostered, but not by us, so yes, Wylla is the first to stay.

    3. Well, I'd say that about 160 something kittens later, that deserves a little Wylla crown and some applause! Talk about special!

    4. She's not special needs. She's special.

  6. See how much you are loved! You have touched so many lives, saved so many lives, and changed so many lives... both feline and human. We can't help but be happy for you. And I agree with Sam's post - we adore Wylla, and we love the posts on all the kittens you have fostered and hope fostering will continue in the future

  7. Laurie, could we at least start a lint brush/roller fund for you or something? You're going to need them by the crate with these two fluff-machines. :p

    1. LvV, thank you for bringing up this excellent idea. I agree wholeheartedly!

One of the considerations about keeping sweet Wylla may well have been her considerable medical bills. I'm guessing that even having her spayed will be more complicated, since she'll be a fully mature kitty by the time she makes weight and is healthy enough for the procedure.

I'd love to see a permanent Wild for Wylla, or MEOW (Medical Expenses Offered to Wylla) donation button on the site.

  8. Congrats on a hard decision, well thought out and implemented! You guys rock. If you send me your "extra shed floof" I will spin it into yarn for you.

  9. I didn't get a chance to comment yesterday, and what could I have said that wasn't a repeat of what everyone else said? Things work out the way they're meant to, and it certainly looks from all your photos like this was meant to be. Sometimes, there really is a greater plan :) There's a special place in Heaven for you and Craig.

    2. I see a potential Dog(cat)-a-thon auction item here---get someone to knit up something with kitty yarn and own a piece of The Bean!

  11. Wylla seems like a good foster buddy to me too. I'm just thrilled for you, Craig, and The Bean.

BTW, Wylla will need a nickname as cute as "The Bean" now.

  13. I missed the post yesterday... and all I can say is HOORAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! It sure seemed like the right way to go, and I honestly don't know what I would have done without being able to obsessively keep up with her. And as the posts went along it was obvious that everyone in the house was falling in love with one another...this is the BEST news!!! Congrats!!! <3

  15. Okay, now that she's a permanent resident, I just have to double-check the pronunciation of her name. Is it short i, like 'will she or won't she' or long i, like Wile E. Coyote?

    1. Great question! My mom says it's Willa with a long "i", I say it's Wylla with a soft "y". Wonder who's right?

    2. We pronounce it "Why-la". Many call her "Willa"

  17. 325+ replies kept me from reading the responses, but congratulations. When I fostered I was worried about what would happen if my foster got adopted and it didn't work out. I had a nightmare about how she was surrendered to the pound and was crying out for me. I'm glad I kept her. I think it would have been very hard for her to adjust to a new home.

I'm glad you came to a decision after a lot of thought and discussion. I know you didn't make it lightly. I wish you the best. I don't know what will happen in terms of fostering other litters, but I'm sure it will work out.

Thank you for all you've done. I wonder if Wylla notices the difference between going from foster to family.

  18. I think we all feel the nervousness of being new parents, since we all have shared the sadness and the joy of the Stout clan. I say "thank you" for allowing us into your lives. It truly is a pleasure, and I look forward to your posts on a daily basis. And I repeat, please set up a Wylla fund so we may all contribute to her future! It feels like she is almost as much ours as yours, so you have plenty of folks to share her with! :-)

  19. Little Wylla already fits so well into your family Laurie, that I don't think you will have any problems. Trust to Ms. Bean for guidance and all will be well.

  21. HUGZ & purrs from Cicero & Phidian. You have given us many delights over the years of your blog!

  22. You guys deserve all the love we can send you! You may get joy from what you do, but believe me, you give 20 times the joy to all of us. And now you can raise the Floof Sisters and we can all continue to see wee Wylla grow up -- it's going to be so fun!

I know you were trying hard to resist the growing love you felt for Wylla. Now that the decision's made, you can open your heart ALL the way up! I think Charlene loves Wylla more than she has loved the other kitties, too, just from looking at the pictures of them together. Woo hoo!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've been following your site for a few years now, even before getting my own 2 kittens (now over 2 years old) and fell in love with many of them, but never so much like Wylla! She is trully special and I was really hoping you decided to keep her - for the first time, despite loving all those lovely foster kittens before. I'm so happy you did so! For Wylla, for Charlene, for you and Craig - I wish the new family all the best! I know she will bring you much joy and love! And thanks for sharing all this with us.

  26. You will be the best parents, of course. I am so happy that wee Wylla and lovely Miss Charlene can be sisters and playmates and that you and Craig can parent this beautiful baby girl. She is probably my favourite itty bitty resident ever (and that's saying a lot)--other than the Bean, of course.

  27. Congratulations on the new addition. I was thinking when I saw the pounce pictures that Wylla was looking awfully at home and in her element. Now if she would just fatten up a bit, she'd be the model of a contented kitty.

  28. Oh, wonderful! I missed the post yesterday, but you may add my congratulations to the pile. I've been watching your pictures, hoping this would happen... but I didn't want to say anything that might sound like I was pressuring you into it.

    But now? YAY WYLLA!!!

  29. I love how we're most concerned about Wylla's 'last name,' haha. Also, I guess the FAQ needs a little update :D

  30. My goodness gracious, that Wylla is one lucky adorable kitten. With Charlene to groom and love her, wow. We should all be so lucky. Thanks to you and Craig for all you do.

  35. I also just want to say that as much as I love and adore all kitties, and think they're all beautiful, cute, adorable, etc. - that you may have two of the most beautiful looking (and it sounds like acting) kitties I have ever been able to see. I'm so happy that we'll get to see pictures of them both for years to come!

  36. This is wonderful news...I've been following your fostering for several years now but rarely comment...this news warmed my heart and she has already warmed yours & Craig's & Charlene's. Best, Kate in FL

  38. Aww, I'm so glad you decided to keep her in your home. She fits so perfectly in your little family and it seems that Charlene just adores her. Lots of love from Kaelie, Craig, and Evie ==^_^==

  39. Now that she's adopted, Wylla will quit faking the eating thing and grow to a fat floofy 15 pounder!
