The Trimbles were finally released from quarantine. Hooray! They were curious, but cautious as they exited their room and entered the big world. Bean was right there to say hello. You can see for yourself on the video below...
They are kind of timid in this new setting, which is often the case when kittens are released. I think the big open space is a little intimidating for them. They prefer being under things and closer to the walls rather than in the center of the rooms. The sound of a crinkly mylar ball or the waving of a feather wand will quickly draw them out and make them forget any fears they may have, so we've been spending a lot of time playing with them.
I'm happy to report our tree is still standing. The Trimbles did bat at the lower branches, but no one attempted to climb it. They do like playing beneath it, and have had a great time wrestling on and under the tree skirt.
Even though they're being good, I don't think I'll leave them unsupervised in the living room. It only takes a second for a kitten catastrophe to happen.
