Joyous Noise

My favorite noise in the whole wide world is the sound of kittens running on wood floors. If I surveyed my fostering friends, I bet they would say the same.

Given their weight, it's surprising they can be so loud. It's not just wood floors. They can make carpeted floors rumble too.

Please turn the sound, watch the clip, and hear their thunder. (there's a dash of side-winding in there too and at the end, a little growling over a sparkleball)

Enjoy!

PS If the clip isn't loading in for you... you can see it HERE too.

  2. LOL!!!! Amazing how something so small can sound like a stampeding herd of wildebeests across the Serengeti!

  3. oh Lordy that made my day! Thanks for the lift. I had forgotten what little maniacs a herd of kittens are. They are so fast, so loud and ever so adorable. That really hit the spot!

  5. If you don't smile while watching that, you are a sad, sad person. Love the thundering herd. Also love the sideways kitten bristling. "i'm big and fierce!" Love the Easterbrooks!

  6. I love the kitten train running through at the end, with the sparkle ball carrier in the lead! How much fun do the Easterbrooks have together?

  7. Thumpity thumpity bump! I think my very favorite part was the verrrrrrrry ferocious growl at the end. Totally made me giggle. Silly kittehs.

  8. Ahh, the pitterpatter of lil paws! 2 sets of big paws here make serious racket when they're chasing each other!

  9. My downstairs neighbors called the police contending that I was chasing and clearly abusing my children based upon the sounds they heard from my apt. I had no kids. I did have a 2 1/2 pound kitten, though. The cop even played with her with his flashlight - whereupon I point out *that* was the noise they were talking about!

  10. While my Toes kitty was alive, she was so light on her feet I swore that she had figured out how to transfer all that impact over to Marbles who is like a herd of elephants.

But this trio is pretty impressive, and floofy, side-winding fun!

  12. This is known as kitty thunder in my two-storey house. My cats are 3, 6 and 8 - they've never stopped.

  14. OMG, that is priceless! Especially the big "grrrrr" at the end; you would think that is a lion, not a 2-pound kitten!

  15. Ok, do you know WHAT?!? When I watched this the first (three) times, I totally thought that the sound at the end was a car passing by outside! I know, I know -- Laurie's introduction really could not be more clear -- "at the end, a little growling over a sparkleball". But I just thought that I couldn't hear the "itty bitty" growl on my system for some reason. Well... later on I came back to read the comments and saw Christie's mention about the "verrrrrrrry ferocious growl" and Kate's comment about the big grrrr as if from a lion, and I thought that I'd better have another listen! Well, good thing -- I would have missed out on one big, adorable, ferocious Easterbrook ggggrrrr...!! :)
