  1. I thought the basket looked like a tiny boat in the previous post too! They certainly are the cutest little sailors!

  12. This is so beautiful! May I ask why you disable downloading of your pictures? I would love to have this one. :)

  13. They were called Winkin, Blinkin, Nod and Lambert. :)

  14. Anon, If I made my pictures downloadable, it would make it THAT much easier for people to use and abuse my images. I already find my pictures bouncing around the internet uncredited or improperly credited. It's maddening.

I choose not to make my images downloadable to protect my work.

  16. What a special and unusual photograph! I love it.

Reminds me of the game we used to play as kids -- "Island" --- where the floor was the ocean and the furniture served as islands. The objective was to move around but not touch the floor. Okay, my husband and I still play it from time to time. :)

I love the image of Wynken, Blynken, Nod and LAMBERT, too!

  17. This is perfect. I LOVE it. It has to be made into a card.

  18. This is a wonderful picture! I trust it will be one of the Lively's postcards? This is how Anon can get a copy. Legally and ethically. Keep the pictures coming and blocked.

  19. I am so tickled by this photo.

  25. Wow - Laurie, this is such a great pic. I agree, this MUST become a card. I'll purchase a set right away!

Made me think of The Owl & The Pussycat. Where's their runcible spoon?

  26. Anon: if you click on the image, you'll be redirected to it on Flickr. If you have a Flickr account, you can "favorite" it. That's what I do - then I can have all my favorite IBKC pictures at my fingertips! (hope that's OK Laurie!)

  27. Ahh, I didn't think of The owl and the Pussycat. I though of tabby cats in Godfrey Lynn's "Captain Kitty", which unfortunately is no longer in print. I must have made my parents read it to me every night for a month. They can still recite, "Captain Kitty, where have you been?/ I've been sailing the ocean blue." from memory after 28 years. http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B0007EZJ46/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_1?ie=UTF8&index=1

  30. "The Basket" and Laurie discuss raising kittens...

The Basket: Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour. A three hour tour.

Laurie: Uhm, what does that song have to do with kittens cast adrift in a sea O' carpet?

The Basket: Well, just like that wonderful and brave lady the "Minnow", I too will safely deliver my "precious cargo" to shore.

Laurie: Basket, you are totally out of your ever loving mind, you do know that, right?

The Basket: Yeah, yeah yeah, your just jealous because you know these kittens would much rather ride with me than you! So there! By the way, I still cant figure out how I arrived in the middle of the sea O' carpet in the first pace...remind me, will ya?

    *******************************************
Laurie, this is such a awesome photo of The Basket and kittens...thank you so much for sharing it with us...and for all of your hard work and efforts on behalf of these precious creatures, whom if not for you, would simply have nowhere else to go! And thanks to Bean and your fella too!
