Double Feature!

It's movie time, friends, and today we've got a double feature.

I had SO many pictures of the Furmans, when I started making the first movie, it ended up being over eight minutes, which is pretty long to sit through. So, after I completed it, I decided that I should make a shorter, edited down version too.

So take your pick.. watch one, watch both,,, here we go....

We'll start with the short version.

.

And for you hardcore kitten fans, with a little extra time on your hands, here's the long one.

I should warn you, the music gets a little trippy, but it does mellow out again before the movie ends.

.

And because someone always asks:

The song in the short movie is "Love Cats" by The Cure
The song in the extended cat mix is "All Delighted People" by Sufjan Stevens

Enjoy!

  1. I was watching your short video and had Pandora playing in the background, and the sound and kitty cut scenes matched up perfectly. It's some ambient/trance stuff by Mr. Scruff (never heard of him, but that name seems amusingly appropriate) called Chipmunk. Thought you might want to dig it up for a listen.

  2. First off, how you coordinated the guitar riffs with the mewing of the kittens at the end is amazing. That had to have been a lot of work.

Also, I can't do better than Robert Smith:

    "So wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
wonderfully pretty! Oh you know that I'd do anything for you."

    Best video yet!

  4. I had to watch them both because I'm a hard core kitten fan, and they were just so cute. I too marveled at how the movements and meows matched the music. Well done!

  7. Fantastic videos! Always such a treat to see them! I was wondering if you were familiar with the song "Love Kittens" by The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy? Here's a link to the lyrics: http://www.jazzbutcher.com/htdb/lyrics/love_kittens.html
"Kittens mend a broken heart" is the last line ... so true!

  9. I think a recording contract might be in the works here. Whether it's for you, or the kitties though, is anyone's guess.

  10. I sure love those kittens, and The Love Cats! What a perfect music choice! It sure brought back memories of high school for me. My best friends and I used to refer to ourselves as the Love Cats, and that was our theme song!

  11. I love these stills made into movies!! Is it possible to slow down the transitions a bit? I have epilepsy but I've never had a flashing light induced seizure but after a couple minutes watching it I start to feel a little weird so I pause it for 5 mins and then watch the rest.

  12. I love your videos of the pictures you have taken of the kittehs! Love Cats of course always made me think if kitties and so it is perfect song to go with the video. Thank you for taking the time to make these!

  14. Thank you for the videos, they are always appreciated; Love cats is the perfect. I too would like to request that the transitions between pics be slowed down, if possible, in order to enjoy each one more thoroughly.

  15. Jean,, please don't watch them if they're making you feel weird! I wish there was a way to play them slower, but there's not.

Anon,, they're meant to be fast, so the still images become animated. it's not intended to be slow like a slide show.

If you want to enjoy a single frame, just hit pause.

I do these movies so I can deliver a whole litter's worth of pictures is a small dose. There are literally thousands of images in each movie. If I were to slow them down even just a little bit , it would become impossibly long.

  16. Perfection! That made me laugh and squee so much - thank you, Laurie! (And yay, I love The Cure!) What a special, precious batch of babies, those Furmans - each just bursting with personality! They were a joy to get to know and I am already missing them very much.

  22. Watched and loved both, for sure.
Jim was singing Love Cats to me earlier this week. Does it get any better than kittens and the cure? :)

  24. Watched the long one today, saving the short one for the emergency plays over the next few days, as adjust to the Furmans moving on and Toes crossing the Rainbow Bridge and Everest at 'camp' being evaluated for his readiness for task\advanced training to begin.

  26. Oh, could you please put some more of these beautiful pictures up on Flickr? I'd love to see them separately from the video, so I can look at each one for longer. (Especially the ones of beautiful little Edith!)
