The Big Cats Need a Break....

SW_b2_0001
I know everyone is excited to meet new a new batch of babies, but we're going to be waiting a little bit before we bring another litter in.

I want to take this week off to catch up on life. I also want to give Charlene and Drewey a break too. As much as Charlene loves having the babies around,, I think it's good for her to take a breather. I think Drewey would like to enjoy the peace and quiet of a kitten-free house for a spell, too.

Next week we will see what the shelter has to offer.

Until then, I still have lots of Musselman pictures left to share with you, more from the BeanCam, and maybe Drewey will be kind enough to pose for a photo or two.

  1. What a sweet picture of the Wonder Girls. And taking a break sounds healthy to me. Looking forward to more from the BeanCam.

  4. Sounds like a plan! I love the "peace on earth" picture of the Drewster and Miss Beanie. Makes me feel like all's right with the world.

I also love that they have each have a unique bowl. Since they are, of course, sophisticated unique ladies.

  5. I love Drewey and The Bean. They certainly are sophisticated unique ladies, each in their own way, as Darin says.

Of course they need some alone time with Mom and Dad! Enjoy!

  6. Drewey...most definitely needs her time of peace and quiet and Bean just needs to, well, spend a bit of time without the baby food and baby cleaning duties. Enjoy some quiet and down time yourself.

  7. I do love little kitties (and am so happy the Musselmans went out in pairs), but my favorites are older cats. They're the true friends.

Enjoy your peace and quiet, Drewey and Charlene!

  8. You have posted many times about the relations between Charlene and the kittens, and between Drewey and the kittens, but I have never seen anything on Drewey and Charlene. Perhaps I just missed it? I'd love to see a post about how they interact, if they do at all.

I love Charlene's Tweet, No kittens = no kitten food. That cracks me up. Of course, she doesn't seem to mind in that photo and she's digging in with gusto. Sweet photo of Charlene and Drewey together!

  10. Nice to see the gals enjoying their food in relative peace.

Charlene's humor on Twitter and Facebook are awesome. She is such a love, she must be exhausted after the trials of grooming a series of kittens.

YAY for solo time for y'all to enjoy.
Super yay for the BeanCam....will you be able to keep it after the time is done?

It would be interesting to see if there are differences between kittens and no kittens.

  11. Dear Girls (Laurie, Drewey and Charlene),

Thanks for the many, many consecutive weeks of kitten and cat pictures, and funny IBK stories. Please take a well-deserved break for as long as you like.

Okay, maybe not for THAT long. But take care of yourselves!

    Love and peace,
    CMS

  13. Posts without pictures of Butterbean being naughty is not enough. We want pictures!! Our favorite posts are those with the resident cats! They are sooo cute!! Have a fun week with your girls!

    Blessings,

  14. We get that - I actually was thinking that Drewey is probably glad to have a bit of a break right now.

That is a great picture of the ladies together by the way - food is great for getting people together!

  15. I think Miss Drewey has absolutely earned herself a little time without kittens underpaw, though I hope she might consent to a few more glamour(puss) photo sessions. A post with Drewey photos in it is always welcome!

  16. I think what you do is marvelous .. take a break and enjoy your two for a while.

  17. I'ld like to here about Drewey and the Bean's relationship too. I've always imagined they are like 2 of mine, the young floofy girl desparately wants to be buddies with the older distinguised lady cat. Old lady cat wants no part of it:)

  18. Yes, a wee respite from bitties is in order - the tranquility may be refreshing...but not for TOO long. Speaking on behalf of the Drewey and Butterbean Wisconsin Fan Club, Madison chapter: thank you for the lovely Dining Portrait!

  19. I bet adult cat time includes doing the NYT crossword and drinking red tea. Enjoy the break, sweeties!

  20. "Drewey and Butterbean Wisconsin Fan Club, Madison chapter"

You can go ahead and include me on that, even though I'm the FDL fan :p

I oh-so-wish I lived over your way, Laurie. I'd be in heaven if I could visit those darling loves you have all the time. I'd probably end up with far too many than are healthy for all involved though! Crazy cat lady indeed!

  21. It looks like they still look good even that big! I am excited for the kittens!

  22. Drewey and Butterbean are such good kitties - sharing their lives, home and people. I hope they enjoy their 'down' time!

  23. Awww...so good to see a peaceful moment with Drewey and Charlene Butterbean. (Even if said Butterbean reverted to naughty fairly quickly!)

Chanter, the two adult cats are each bent over their own bowls of food, and chomping away amiably.

  24. I so understand needing a break. Last weekend we were finally without foster kittens for the first time since May. We definitely need to rest for a bit too. Thank you for your wonderful blog!
