THE Dog-A-Thon!!

Dog-A-Thon was a huge success. Even though it was in squillions of degrees outside, it didn't stop the masses from attending. On Saturday, the donations totaled 137K, but by the time all is said and done, their expecting to reach over 150K.

We met up with Shana and Sue early that morning, checked out all the vendors, a pet trick competiton, and watched some dogs run an agility course. We said hello to lots of folks and IBKC followers. Everyone was so excited about all the fundraiser and all that the Itty Bitty Kitty Community brought in.

Fortunately, the walk was a shady one and there were lots of water stops along the way. I made a sign that said "We're walking for the kitties". We got lots of smiles and "yay kitties!!" from our fellow walkers.

I thought I took more pictures than I did, so I don't have as many as I would like to share. Margueritte from the HS posted a few, so I borrowed some from her Flickr page to share with you. Here are some highlights from the day.

Lots of hot dogs!

  1. Just in case there are some IBKC groupies who don't know it, Laurie is multi-talented. She's not limited to this wonderful blog w/it's amazing pictures and commentary. She was also featured in the Summer 2009 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. One of her gorgeous bridal bouquets (available in her etsy shop) is shown on page 138. Check it out.

Let's hear it for our talented Kitty Wrangler!

  7. Yay for kitty Dog-A-Thon walkers!

Now for the 64 Squillion Dollar question... will there be any shots of the IBKC team holding their signs????? :evil grin:

Given that I'd be somewhat shy about posting my own photo, it's odd that I have absolutely NO problem about urging others to do exactly that! (My hypocracy knows no bounds, as the doc would say).

Thanks for the walking, the pics and all your postings, KittyWrangler!!!
