A Very Quiet Day

Harlan_in_a_ball

Sure is quiet around here today. I took the Lovejoys into the HS bright and early this morning. Yes, it's time for the snippity-snip of their bitty bits.

I had just taken them in yesterday for shots, blood draws and micro-chipping. They slept a lot yesterday afternoon and evening. This morning they woke up extra springy.

They all dashed out of the room, looking for their breakfast. When they discovered there was none, they went straight on to their morning play session.

Nelson was taking on Charlene. Tressa and Neville had a wad of paper cornered in the dining room. Harlan was off in his own little world, pouncing on something invisible.

I interrupted their antics, got them suited up in their ID collars, put them into the kitty-carrier, and off we went to the HS.

They were mad to be inside that tight space while still in their morning romp mode and were scratching at the door to get out. After a few blocks, they settled down and decided it might be more effective to stare at me with their big blinking kitty eyes instead. It didn't get them released from their carrier, but it got them a few scritches at the stoplights along the way.

So yes folks, it's time. Both pairs of Lovejoys will be departing this weekend.

I really really hope that Tressa's mum will take pics of her and let Laurie post em.

  5. Awwwwwwwwwww! I'm gonna miss this lot. All the IBKC grads are special cats, but there's just SOMETHING about the Lovejoys. I also hope we get to see grownup pictures!

When do we get to find out the pairings?

  6. What a great post, Laurie... hope they all recover quickly from the snippity snip.

Hmmmm... following Martin & Melissa's's comment, maybe we should request that you restrict adoptive parents to those who promise to keep up a blog of their own, so we can stay in touch with the bitties with whom we've fallen in love!!! ;-)

  7. Not yet! We haven't even seen Tressa's backside yet (just the boys) and there hasn't been by far enough of Charlene and the babies and...

We don't even know who's going with whom!

...I hope their new families understand what it means when you get an IBKC kitten...

  13. Already?? How can that be? At least they are going as pairs. And I agree, there should be something in their adoption papers that require regular updates.

  14. Laurie - do the (lucky dux!) people who get to adopt our precious treasures all KNOW about this blog? Because I would bet you one of Evangeline's whiskers (well...wait, lemme rethink that) that any new IBK parents who DO come here are already loving and so on -- and perhaps like to at LEAST post little pix of *our babies* now and then as they grow. I'm sad to see the Lovejoys leave US behind, but as always - there are four youngling kits heading out for long lives (from my lips to Bast's ears) of absolute pampering, and there's NO down side to that!
