I crafted a little cake for Charlene. It's just a can of kitten food with a layer of tuna in the middle. It's decorated with kitten crunchies and flakes of freeze-dried chicken. These are all her favorite foods.

I put the cake down in front of her, and she investigated it.

She stepped back and let the kittens enjoy it first.

They all swarmed in and devoured it in a matter of moments.

Charlene waited patiently, and when the kittens were done, she licked up the remaining crumbs. What a generous girl she is.
One more birthday bit,, then we'll move on. I had to share with you another one of Charlene's birthday cards. This is from my dear old dad.

So adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and so considerate!!! She's got it all!

Good gracious! The card from your Dad was purrrfect! What a card!
ReplyDeleteBless Charlene's heart, she is a giver!
We can all learn a lot from Charlene Butterbean. She is my idol. Your dad's card shows us that he is the tree from which the apple that is you fell!
ReplyDeleteGolly, for a girl who loves her food the way the Butterbean does, allowing the itty bitties to devour her cake is beyond generous.
ReplyDeleteCharlene is *the* definition of inner and outer Beauty.
The card from Grandpa is hysterically funny, and right on!
Charlene, you are a wonderful mama. Happy Birthday, Butterbean!
ReplyDeleteaawww... i didn't know mother cats could be so generous like that.
ReplyDeleteawww, how generous of her! I have to say I feel a little bad that all she got was crumbs though!
ReplyDeleteAnd I just noticed on my second look through the pictures that there are 3 Charlenes on that bottom birthday card!
Oh! Your dad is a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteCharlene is the Butterbeaniest!
Happy birthday dearest Butterbean! Maddie sends biscuits and licks.
ReplyDeletethis made me so happy i almost fainted.
ReplyDeleteWow, so polite of her! I have one cat that would do the same thing - he always waits for the other three to go first. It is nice to see a picture of her with the kittens. They look so cute together. And I am always impressed to hear/see how good she is with them.
ReplyDeleteWow. My two would never let another cat, no matter how cute, snarf up the goodies first!
ReplyDeleteThat is incredibly special behavior. I don't care what the song lyrics are... Charlene is the queen!
OMG -- that card your dad made is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you & charlene are :-)
Charlene is such a sweetheart! Sharing her purrthday cake!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Charlene, what a lovely girl. I hope she got a taste of the cake at least and not just the crumbs...what a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful of Charlene to let the kittens enjoy her cake. What a terrific foster mom!
ReplyDeleteAnd your Dad's card is hysterical!
Happy Birthday, beautiful floofy girl. :D
ReplyDeleteI adore the loving and floofy kitty girl that Charlene is!
ReplyDeleteHer heart is humongous when it comes to being the top foster-mom to many kittens.
And her grandpa must also have a similar heart that he shared with his daughter. I needed this heartwarming story...
How considerate of Ms. Butterbean, it sure looked like a fun little party.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Butterbean!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Butterbean!
