Dear little Agnes and big boy Carmine left yesterday afternoon for their new homes. Yes! They are staying together!!!! Their new parents are good, good people and they are going to provide a wonderful life for these precious two.

You will all be thrilled to know that Agnes and Carmine (now know as Henry) have their own blog, so you'll be able to watch them continue to grow! AND you'll be able to follow Rosalie and Renatta, they have their own blog as well!

In other adoption news,,both Hiram and Mary Liza Fairchild have found their homes as well. Mary Liza has been adopted by Sue's sister. We're all happy she'll be staying in the family. She'll have a playful big brother to keep her company.

Hiram found a really awesome set of parents and he'll have a couple of slightly older siblings to play with. It sounds like his new home is pretty much kitty heaven on earth. Lucky boy!

I'll leave you with a few pictures of the final moments with the Agnes and Carmine. After they were tucked into their carrier, Alvie and Virgil scaled the side of it to say goodbye.

Bye-bye babies, we will miss you and your loving ways. It has been such a pleasure knowing you.

  1. Aw, they just got here...but yay for more kitty blogs!

I really don't understand how Virgil wasn't snatched away as soon as he was up for adoption. I mean, the eyes on that boy!

  2. Oh Man - I will miss those two.

Agnes is one of my favorites because of the gentle soul I could see in her eyes. Dilute torties has a special spot in my heart.

Oh, who am I kidding, EVERY IBK has a spot in my heart....I am amazed that it is not overcrowded!

    Be well kits!

  4. Glad they could go off in a pair. If I lived closer (and didn't already have two kitties) I would love to take home the little flame-point. Is that Alvie? He's highly nommable.

  5. I'm so glad we'll have a little more time with Virgil and Alvie. I know Charlene is loving every minute of it and wondering how she had time for them when they were all there! And the human Committee members get more quality time with these darling boys.
    Nighty night all.

  7. Such wonderful news about the Pettibones & the Fairchildren! Congrats to Laurie & Sue, once again, for their outstanding fostering.

Maui was beautiful, but I miss my kitties ~ the island's feral kitty community didn't quite take the place of these amazing IBK's.

Stay tuned for big kitty adoption updates, as I return to the shelter on Monday.

  8. We can only hope that Virgil and Alvie's new parents keep a blog too!

And Agnes' little smile in that picture just tickles me. :)

  9. Oh, now THAT is a plus, IBK with blogs! To the new Forever Parents -THANKS! Seriously, ladies and gennulmen - you know how much WE all love the IBK? and you know how much we love Laurie and Sue and all the rest of the human caretakers? Think of it - all this love is BOUND to keep spilling over. I can see the headlines: "ITTY BITTY KITTIES CAUSE WORLD PEACE!" (Wellllll....it *could* happen!)

  10. When we picked up our kitty, his mum also climbed on his carrier and gave him a kiss goodbye. It brought a tear to my eye. :(

  12. I am thrilled these kitties found wonderful homes- with bloggers, yet! - and I look forward to watching them grow up into spectacular companions for their families. I just know Virgil and Alvie will find great homes, too... meanwhile, the IBKC (and we) get to enjoy them for a little while longer.

  13. Parting is such sweet sorrow. I'm delighted that little Hiram and Mary Liza have great homes. Laurie, you and the Butterbean do a most wonderful job with these kittens. I can't wait to meet the next batch!

  14. How wonderful to see the sendoff Alvie and Virgil gave their siblings. I agree completely with my fellow-IBK junkies about the joy of getting blogging parents for the adoptees. We really do care about these little darlings and what happens to them.

In other news, we're on vacation, and even though it's only our first day away I already desperately miss my babies. Not likely we'll be seeing many kitties in downtown Chicago, so I'll be checking in here often (okay, oftener than usual) for my IBKC fix.
