I'm a Little Worried

I think Charlene has a drinking problem.

  1. She needs to meet the Pettibones. That'll straighten her right out!

  2. Then again, her drinking may be an escape from the reality of having to train six (six!)energenic kittens in the Art of Graceful Cathood. Has she met them yet?

Don't worry, Charlene - the rest of the IBKC will help, and we will be here to cheer you on!

  3. It happens to even the best. *sigh*

  4. This does happen. My daughter's late Doris used to take the car and go to the Lickatoe to buy booze. I know this is true because my daughter would not lie about her cat.

  5. It's only a problem if she falls off the table...

  6. My cat Spike will only drink out of water glasses. If he can't stick his nose far enough in the glass to get the water, he will tip it over. so I have to put out water in a Ball jar on the floor for him next to his food. Or turn the bathroom faucet on when he jumps up. I am well-trained!

  7. Oh, Charlene - this will not help in the long run!

My Mr. Cattingham prefers to drink from the bathtub faucet - while Sampson drinks from what's left on the bottom of the tub or scoops it out of the bowl.

Everyone else is "relatively" normal! lol

  8. Oh my goodness! I just love this cat......

  9. If you had a revoling door for itty bittys, you too would need a sip of "Mother's helper" round about 4pm. Way to go Charlene!

  10. bbbbbut....bbbbutttt...but TWYLA said that Charlene wasn't allowed on the dining room table.

  11. That is just too much. What a great picture. Now if that were my cat, he'd be in the same position, only the glass would be in pieces on the floor:)

  12. Surely a girl so caring and hard working as Charlene is allowed a little recreation?

(At least she didn't pass out on the floor, that would be unseemly)

  13. Charlene needs to drink a lot to be able to wash the 6 babies that arrived..so she started to prepare herself...Good girl Charlene Bean xoxox Jeanne

  14. So Charlene is especially skilled in the art of drinking.

Most drinkers tend to drink themselves UNDER the table!

Takes a very special skill to drink yourself ONTO the table.

    Right, Charlene???

  16. How on earth do you get such great pictures?! Love that Butterbean.

  17. she's depressed because her babies keep disappearing!

  18. Ha!

    That Butterbean!

You'll have to ween her off the Martini's with periodic doses of catnip.

  19. Totally off topic, but I've been admiring your tablecloth for so long. (I think it's from Anthroplogie, yes?) Been kicking myself for not buying one ever since I've spotted it in your blog.

  20. Charlene Butterbean is lying on her side on the edge of dining table, her two front paws stretched over the edge. Her eyes appear to be blissfully closed and she is very relaxed indeed. An unkind observer might suggest that there's a hint of past dissipation in her pose.

Laurie is making her allegations about a rather large and very empty glass sitting next to Charlene.

All I can add is that if I knew there would be six babies entering my life, I would be right there alongside dear Charlene.

  21. Don't despair, darling Butterbean. I, too, used to try to drown my sorrows. Then I found out they could swim, so I got help. I know you can do it Charlene! We're all cheering for you!

  22. Of course she has a drinking problem. The problem is that she can't fit her whole head in that glass.

  23. We've seen it with every set of new babies so I must quote my father and say that Charlene appears to have the same problem he said our dog of many years ago had: She can't hold her licker.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Groan!!! Hold her licker?? Anne... you didn't... you DID!

2 in one day! Actually, Lickatoe was pretty dang funny.

  25. This is like an unofficial caption contest! Very funny.

  26. Now see, I don't know as she's been drinking, I see no evidence that SHE was responsible for emptying that glass. I think it might be that she ....uhm...she's holding down the corner of the table cloth. Or maybe she's hiding out from the new babies. Or guarding the cup so it doesn't get knocked off. Or -- well -- ok, maybe she is every so slightly tippled. Ever so slightly. Because she IS a lady, after all, that's clearly evident.

  27. omg, that is hilarious.
