Recipe for Disaster

maddie and the lamp

charlene, maddie and the lamp

In case you are wondering, yes, the lamp did end up on the floor. But it didn't happen while she was hugging it.

With Charlene's encouragement, Maddie jumped on the back of the chair, then pounced on the lampshade. The shade tipped, she swung from it for a moment, then dropped onto the end-table. The lamp teetered, then hit the floor. Maddie was startled, but was not hurt a bit. The light bulb broke and there are a couple of dings on the hardwood floors, but no major damage was done.

The kittens are getting more squirrely by the minute. It's only a matter of time before they'll be swinging from the chandeliers. Of course I can never get mad at them. Just look at that girl and her sweet little belly. How could you ever get mad at that belly?

  1. AH, so Mme Butterbean *instigates*, does she? Very clever, Mr. Bond. Glad to hear "no harm done" - of course, had the lamp been rare porcelain of the ancient greenteamochi dynasty, it would've been dust. In our house we have a name for the fuzzy perpetrators of mischief: "paschkudnik"! (Not that either of MY kitties qualifies! Only one ever might, and I won't name names, but her initials are L-i-l-l-i-a-n-e!)

My daughters complain I am too kind with my cats. They don't know you :-)
The first picture is beautiful, the lady of the lamp and the kitty have the same size.
