Aww Heck, Not Yet!

DSC_0152

I popped into the Foster Room yesterday hoping to pick up a set of cuties to bring home. There were several sets of mamas with tiny babies and a few teen cats in need of some socialization, but no little orphan kittens for us.

Things have been pretty busy down there so I would be really surprised if our wait was long at all.

Should they arrive today or tomorrow (the shelter is closed Sunday and Monday) I'll pop over here and share a peek.  We'll blast in on the social media too, of course.

I know you're itchin' for kittens -- I'm sorry we'll be waiting just a wee bit longer!  Hopefully, just a day or so. Stay tuned!

  1. Not criticizing at all, genuinely curious - why not bring home a teen?

    1. We like sticking with what we do best -- fostering litters of underaged kittens. Socializing ferals is something entirely different.

  3. Hi! First time commenting/ just started reading your blog a few months ago. Do you think you can share pics of the tiny babies with their mamas even if no new kittens in your home yet?

    1. Welcome to the community! Laurie does not have babies/mama for fostering.... but it did happen once. Look up Beulah Mae and the Pickett litter. It's one of my favorites. Also, I believe one of the "Tea with Bean (and Wylla)" pictures in the last couple years was of a floofy mama and her little babies. :-) -Darin

  4. Well, this will give your girls time to have you guys to themselves for a bit longer, so it's not all bad.

And speaking of raspberries, I thought ever so fondly of the Framboises as I was enjoying some yesterday. ;)))

  5. Love the blep! And as much as I love the IBKC, I expect the paucity (pawcity?) of orphaned baby kitties is a good thing, right?

  6. ANd when do we have a family of "Fraise" or "Strawberries" to match "Les petits Framboise"? Maybe even some Honey coloured ones called "Corn" or Maize, or even ones with Green Eyes; Les Pois?

  7. It's sort of a good thing there are no itty bitties you can foster, just in the sense there are fewer kitties who need help. It gives me a bit of hope that one day every pet of every sort will get a loving home they deserve and there will be no more strays. One day.

  8. I have been reading your blog for awhile now. And I wanted to say, thank for the inspiration. I am going to start fostering kittens as soon as the middle of June.

  10. Fostering a sort of depressed mama who stares out the window all day we don't really know where she came from but she's definitely very feral if you have any suggestions please say because the poor thing is very depressed
