What Do Ya Know? It's Marigold and Poe!

Last night we had the EXTREME pleasure of visiting Marigold and Poe ( and their dads)!

The second we arrived at their home, I scooped up Marigold and gave her a big dose of love, which she happily received.

I then handed her off to Craig so I could make a beeline for my boyfriend, Poe.  He was curled up and happy as can be in his heated bed.  I gave him lots of scritches, many kisses, and he rolled over on his back, stretched his arms my way, and showed me his sweet kitty belly.

They clearly remembered us, which touched my heart.

When we saw them last, it was just a week after their adoption, and the kittens have grown tremendously since that visit.  Shawn said that when they were weighed during their last appointment with the vet, they both were over five pounds!

Their paws are gigantic,  Poe's in particular,  and their bodies lean and very muscular.  Poe is a sleek panther.  Marigold smart and stunning creature.

We listened to David and Shawn excitedly share many funny stories of kitten antics, Poe's cross-eyedness and how he navigates the world,  Marigold's mad hunting skills,  all they games they play, and how they love watching squirrels, birds, and television.

It's quite clear they love their kittens, and their kittens love them. It was so sweet seeing them all together in their happy home.

I know you're all itching to see some kitten pictures, so without further delay, here are Marigold and Poe!!

Oh, and don't worry, the fireplace is fake!

Thanks for a delightful visit, David and Shawn!

  3. This is so sweet! It looks like they are being very appropriately spoiled by their dads!

  4. They grow up SO fast! It's wonderful to see them again; it looks like they hit the kitten jackpot.

Our almost two year old cat really loves those fabric cubes. He doesn't have quite as many toys on top, mainly because he likes to jump into from great distances and send it flying. Any toys put on top don't tend to stay there long. Ah, cats...

    1. I had a kitten like that! She looked like a giant red tumbleweed flying across the floor and it was hilarious. Sadly, it all ended when she shredded it and then got tangled in it so badly I had to rush her to an emergency vet to extricate her and save her foot. :( She's fine, but the toy had to go away, and I have not replaced it as she and her brother are lovably destructive little monsters. <3 Just be careful.

    2. Yes, our Miles likes to do daring (a.k.a., really stupid) things... Luckily he's getting wiser as he gets older, but we do keep an eye on him. I'm glad your kitten didn't lose a foot from her antics!

  5. You could have stopped at "Poe in his heated bed" - truly this Golden Panther and SLeek Panther are loved to the moon and back. Thanks for letting us peek at the growing up versions of Poe & Marigold.

  7. Although they are Bigger they are just the same; GORGEOUS. So sleek and feline, and adorable. Oh what lucky Daddies to have such kitties! (And such lucky Kitties to have such adoring Daddies!)

  8. Laurie,
If cross-eyes isn't corrected in humans, they have difficulty seeing later. Is this the same with cats? (not sure if you would know this-----Poe seems more cross-eyed than other cats)

    1. I really don't know. You can tell he has shortcomings with his vision, but he really is able to navigate fine. I've seen far worse cases than his --especially in Siamese types.

  9. They are so big! I love their radiant colors and sleek coats. I've seen dozens, if not hundreds, of cute kittens from reading the IBKC blog but these two are the most stunning I've seen!

  11. Kittens rock. Growing kittens rock. In these uncertain times I feel myself spending more time looking at kittens and puppies than maybe I should. Thank you for being such a wonderful break from it all. Oh, and Poe, those cross eyes, and big paws. I'm smitten. :)

  12. Googly-eyed Poe! They're gonna be great for next Halloween -- one cute, one cute-and-scary! (Poe's eyes almost glow!)

  13. Oh my, they are both so beautiful! It's such a great thing you could go for a visit! Our foster mama never came to sew our kitten after we adopted him.

  14. It's so sweet that Poe and Marigold remember you! Will David and Shawn be seeing a lot of you in the next 18 years or so? :)

  15. Oh, I die from the teenaged cuteness!!! They deserve their very own Teen Tiger Beat magazine cover. So happy they are thriving with their daddies. I bet that cute fake fireplace has a nifty heater at the bottom and is an uber-snuggly place to hang out and look oh-so-apres-ski-swank. Thank you for the update.

  17. Poe's expression seems to say, "why didn't you bring auntie Whyla and Charlene with you?"
