New Year, New Camera!

DSC_0266

HAPPY NEW YEAR!   We're back!  I hope you all had a great holiday, and your 2017 is off to an amazing start.

Craig and I both had a pretty light workload, so we just took it easy last week, had some fun, and spent lots of time with the cats. Wylla and Charlene loved having their lazy humans to nap and hang out with.

November and December were such chaotic months for me with work, it was so good to have a little downtime. I'm still recovering from that cold/flu thing I caught in the middle of the month, so I think it did my body some good to take it easy.

One kind of big and exciting thing happened last week -- I got a new camera.  I've been wanting to upgrade for a while and was doing some research, and finally decided to take the plunge. My old Nikon was starting to get a little tired -- I gave it a pretty good workout and have taken 244,000 images with it!

The new camera is a lot more complicated that what I was shooting with before, but I'm excited to learn more about all of the bells and whistles, and hopefully use it to its full potential.   So far, I absolutely love it, and I can't wait to shoot our next litter of kittens. Hopefully, we will be seeing them soon --  it's pretty quiet down in the foster room right now, so who knows when our next batch will arrive!

In the meantime, I'll just have to practice on our permanent resident beauties!

Oh, and thanks to all who sent in a birthday greeting for Wylla! We got so many sweet messages and photos and I'm looking forward to sharing them on Wednesday when we celebrate the big day!

  4. Great pictures! Is there any chance that you could write a post or two with tips on how you take your photos? I can never get photos of our kitties that come anywhere close to what you take.
