Casual Cats

Oh, look at how casual and relaxed our little Framboises are! Oh, little Cleo, especially you!

Yesterday was a big day for the kittens- they all went in to get snipped.  They returned home fully awake, alert,  without any lingering effects from the anesthesia,  ready to snack, and ready to play!

Wylla thought they smelled pretty strange, and when I opened their carrier in the living room to set them free, she gave them a few growls.  Minutes later, when she realized that they were her same kitten pals, all was fine.

Their incisions look great and their shaved bellies are adorable.  No issues at all and surgery was a breeze.

We're trying to minimize play and keep them on the ground, but well, they are kittens, so there's only so much you can do. No cat towers or feather wands for now -- just toys to chase on the ground.

They'll heal for a couple of days, then they'll pack their little kitten suitcases and start heading out the door! The girls both leave this weekend, and Enzo goes next week.

Their stay was brief,  but because they needed some coaching coming out of their shells, we've spent  a lot of time with them.  We will miss these dear babies!  And their tongues. OH, we're going to miss their tongues.

There are some big storms brewing around here and high winds are expected tonight.  We've got lots of big trees in Tacoma, so when we get wind, trees go down and take power lines with them. SO, if you don't hear from me tomorrow, that's why.  Hopefully it won't be as bad as they're predicting, but if it is, we're in for a doozy of a storm!  Be careful out there, Northwest friends!

  2. I really thought Posey was my favorite. I really did. Now I think Cleo is my favorite. Look at the Loungey Queen!

  3. Aww they are so cute... These babies should definitely be featured on a postcard! (Also, "snipped" is such a nice way of describing it. :))

Did you get the Part 1 storm last night or did it miss you guys? We got a bit walloped here in BC last night but these next 2 storms sound even scarier. We live in a forest so it's pure terror here during these wind storms.
Stay safe and I hope all your kitties stay calm.

  9. I bet their furever hoomans are so excited and impatient! Wylla and Bean will be left without the yummy, yummy flavor of tabby to lick and slurp to their hearts' content.

  11. Hope that all in the path of the storm stay safe and sound.

Love this set of pics, and seeing the kitties so relaxed and confident. You have worked your magic with them!

LG didn't have a kitty suitcase when he moved in with us, just his bindle. :-)

  12. So glad that all was well in Tacoma last night! A co-worker told me that they were contemplating closing the Yaquina Bay Bridge down here in Newport, Ore. because of the storm, which they rarely do. I've seen the sun today (Friday) in Corvallis, I hope y'all have too.
