Happy Birthday, Dear Wylla!

Wylla_3

Oh, Wylla. Here you are, turning THREE already.

I remember the moment I first set my eyes on you. I was with Sue in the foster room and we were packing you and your sweet siblings into the carrier to bring you home. We first marveled at the adorableness of Audrey and Filbert, and when we got to you, Sue and I both burst into a fit of giggles that lasted for minutes. You were the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen, you were the most ridiculous thing Sue had ever seen, and we could not stop laughing.  From the very second I met you, you began bringing joy into my life.

This past year has been wonderful -- it makes me so happy to see that you are feeling so good.  I know in your first two years of life there was discomfort and many days that your illness kept you down. I'm so glad that we're on the other side of it now, and you're able to live your life to the fullest.  You're making up for those days lost during kittenhood, aren't you?  You're bigger, you're stronger, you're more kittenish than you ever were as a kitten, you're goofier, you're dorkier, and you're happier.

And I am grateful.

Thank you for getting better. Thank you for being your adorable, bright self. Thanks for always chirping "hello" when you walk into the room and for all the great conversations that follow. Thanks for the cuddles, squeaky purrs, and occasional drooling.  Thanks for wrasslin' with throw rugs and chasing balled socks -- it's fun to watch. Thanks for keeping your sister active and on her toes. Thank you for keeping my toes warm at night.  Thanks for loving those little foster babies. Thank you for making us feel loved. Thank you for the joy you bring us every single day. You're a special one.

Have a very happy birthday, dear Wylla.

We've got lots to come today, so do stay close.  There will be cake, presents, and lots of celebrating!

  8. I was lucky enough to have a torti-tabby for fourteen years; her name was Kitling. I still remember the first time I saw her at the shelter. While I didn't laugh, I had never seen such an odd stripey, multi-colored kitten before. Of course, I subsequently learned how beautiful she was.

    Happy birthday, Wylla!

  14. Happy Birthday Wee Wylla I visited your site the day I had to put my beautiful baby down. I reached out to you to find out if any babies where available which they were not however this site with Wylla and Bean helped so much as I was devastated. I have since got a new furbaby who is the complete opposite of the one I lost but I love him just the same. Thank you so much for this blog and for sharing your beautiful girls with us.

  19. Happy Purrday, Wylla! I can't believe it's been three years. The first time I saw Wylla, my thought was that I just had to have her and, even though I had four kitties at the time, I wanted to try to make it work with five. Then the terrible illness that took Filbert came along and then your own problems, but with each post I could tell that you were where you were supposed to be, with Laurie, Craig and Charlene. So I stopped thinking of how I could bring you home because you already had the best home possible. Thank you for sharing your life with us, dear Wylla!
