Why So Messy?

How can such tiny kittens be such huge messes?

Just watch them eat!

This was yesterday's breakfast. During the day, I feed them every four hours, but at night they now go six hours between their midnight snack and breakfast. They're always a little extra eager to eat in the morning - other meals are slightly less messy!

  3. How can something so small be so messy? They gots lots of growing to do! Reminds me of how SMELLY they can get at this age if one does not get every speck of mush off a small body. Thanks for the chuckle!

  6. Feeding and cleaning up after those little ones is clearly a lot of work for their foster mom. Laurie, at what age does a typical kitten stop slopping food all around and become fastidious?

    1. They are improving every day. I would imagine in the next week or so they should have it mastered!

  13. *bursts out laughing loudly* The full facial food mask did it for me. How can you not find a kitten who's gone snout deep into breakfast hilarious(ly adorable)? Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and this video of the Clovers wearing their meals. I've enjoyed these three adorable messes SO MUCH.

  16. Thanks for sharing this. I loved it! Part of me thought "there has to be a way to design a bib or..." and the sight of the covered kitten evaporated that thought. So funny.

  18. I am having a totally craptacular week and this was exactly what I needed. Just knowing that this is going on somewhere in the world warms the cockles of my cranky heart.

Go on with your snuffling, sloppy selves, kittens!

  19. It seems like the little bowls make it hard not to get a face full of food, maybe they would do better with a shallower bowl or plate?

    1. They push the food off of plates and step in the food more - bowls keep the food contained better.

  20. If there is anything more adorable in the whole entire world, I have no idea what it could be!
