The Chase

Every night around 10:00, the girls get a big burst of energy which lasts for about an hour. During this hour you'll see a little wrestling, lots of chasing, and a whole lot of fun.

In this clip you'll see the girls in action a few evenings ago. As they race across the room, Bean decides to take a quick left turn to dive into the cardboard kitty house. Wylla thinks fast, jumps over Bean, and avoids a collision.  We've seen many close calls like this, and thankfully, never any injuries!

  1. When I had my two crazy girl cats they used to have a 'mad-half-hour' session each night! TFS, Jo x

  2. (Until her recent passing) white Sugar Belle and black Zoe, both senior ladies, chased and tackled every night a few minutes after I went to bed. They would "rabbit" kick each other-head to foot, foot to head. With their coloring, it looked like Yin &Yang. Otherwise, they were sweet to each other. Gail

  3. I'm also really interested in that headboard. Is that a large picture frame? It is gorgeous.

    1. Dash, It's not a headboard, it's just the window.

  4. My kitties do this in the mornings :) Lissa chases her older sister Ginger all over the house from one end to the other, corner to corner! It's a hoot to watch!

  5. My two get this crazy in the early am. Then you need to no move, put your feet on the couch because the Maine Coon Express is flying around corners and up the stairs.

All I could think of was a traffic report "near miss on the Expressway, no injuries"

  8. Where'd they get their driver's licenses, the back of a cereal box? Sheesh, ladies, slow down and take it easy before there's a crash! XD I will never cease to be impressed by the ability of cats to avoid a collision.

  9. Ah, yes, the kitty crazies! My current girls don't participate, but I've had kitties in the past who went wild at about that time of night. I kind of miss it! (Oh - and I love the sound effect! It made both my girl perk up -- but not jump up!)
