Sad Stewart

Our little Lumpkins were starting to develop a pretty good layer of kitten crust.  They had poo on their shoes and soup on their bibs, so they all got a good bath yesterday. I do hate to do it, but without a mom to keep them clean, even with post-meal wipe-downs, they just get dirty during this stage of development.

I trid to explain to them that it's for their own good, but those faces tell me they don't understand.

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO US?  Baths make us very sad!

I'm sorry, Stewart, but it had to be done. Hopefully we'll never have to subject you to that again. But now that it's over, doesn't it feel good to be so clean?

And before I go this morning, I wanted to say thanks to all who pre-odered their cards sets yesterday. They were flying out the door! We've sold 2/3 of the sets, and if we sell out soon, I'll have time to order more.  SO, if you're thinking about picking up a set, it's so helpful if you do it soon!

I offer quantity discounts, so if you're interested in ordering six sets or more, shoot me an email, and we'll work out a deal.

To check out the cards and other new IBKC products, please pop over to our shop. Thanks!

  1. Oh, poor little Stewart! Your human's right though: it has to be done, she'll get it over with ASAP, and I'm sure there's some post-bath snuggles and grooming on the way.

  6. Bean baths are so much better than water... Hang in there, Lumpkins! And I bet you do feel better being clean.

  7. Adorably insulted expression....

As children everywhere have been told "It is for your own good"

  8. When I had to bathe Zoubi once (note I said ONCE) she acted like I had set her on fire. The screaming. I couldn't bathe her fast enough! Of course, India thought of it as a bizarre time to bond and lick my hand. There's no telling how a cat will respond. I guess Stewart was pretty surprised at that point. He is so adorable. And all that fur ought to floof up really well now. I can hardly wait for the after pictures!

  13. I also snorted out loud when I saw the adorable picture of little Stewart!

Many years ago, I made a deal with Sammy and Coco that if they kept themselves clean, then no baths. I made the same deal with Buddy and Tiger. Unfortunately for Tiger, he has long pantaloons which sometime get a little dirty from the litter box. So, sadly for him, he has to get 1/2 baths. Not a happy cat!
