Tiny Giant

I hadn't weighed Wylla since Effie and Hazel moved in, and put her on the scale last night. Much to my surprise, in the past month she's gained a couple of ounces, and now tips the scale at five and half pounds! I'm not sure if they're a factor in the recent weight gain or not, but I'm happy to see she's a little bit bigger.

She's still wee for a year-old cat, but compared to Effie and Hazel, she's a giant.

  1. Congrats on the weight gain, Miss Wylla. Do love the past picture - "What ARE these things in MY basket?!?!"

  2. Omg, the last few photos of Wylla watching the kittens wrestle are just adorable.

  3. I feel like Wylla's thinking, "I was never that small, was I?" Either that, or, "These wee ones are cuh-ray-zee."

  4. # 5, Wylla: "Really?"
    # 6, Wylla: "Really??"
    # 7, Wylla: "Stay on your side"

  5. If it isn't a look of love in Hazel's eyes at the first picture, I don't know what it is. Precious, tiny love!

    1. I imagined Hazel saying "Will I ever be as beeeg as you are, Auntie Wylla?"

  6. Ha. That sixth photo, Wylla looks so concerned. "Uh. What are you two doing? Should they be doing that? Should I be worried? I'm worried. Oh, dear ..." :)

  7. I'm captioning the first picture,
    Hazel: "Gee Wylla, you're HUGE!"
    Wylla; "Yes. Yes I am."

  9. One of my cats, who lived to the ripe old age of 22, never weighed more than 5 pounds her entire life. Maybe Wylla is just destined to be petite. She has a whole lot of adorable crammed into her wee little body! And I just love the looks on her face in these pictures!

  11. Yay, Wylla! When I saw her at your book signing, I couldn't believe how little she was, and I often think about that when looking at the photos of the kittens. It seems impossible that they are even smaller than Wee Wylla!

  12. Adorable! I love Hazel's tiny tongue tip in the fifth photo. Keep eating, Wylla, and keep on keeping it down!

  13. Cutie patooties, whatever the size. *G* Seeing Wylla with the fosters for the first time, it was like, "Whoa, is she *really* that big?" Makes you realize how much she's grown and that she's more petite than wee now (but 'wee Wylla' flows off the tongue better than 'petite Wylla'). I've mentioned before one of the cats I grew up with was never more than 6, 6.5 lbs at her heaviest her entire life. She LOVED to eat and had enough 'tude, personality, and mouthiness for three cats. She's sorely missed.

  14. That look says "Do I have to put up with this?". So very cute!

  15. Wylla will always be a giant to us! I love that she looks serious almost all the time, but I'm know that she has fun and romps with the Bean and the kittens!
