Bean gets fed first, then Wylla. While Wylla eats, Effie and Hazel's breakfast is prepared, and Bean makes her way to the picture window. The kittens eat breakfast in their room, Wylla abandons her breakfast and cries at their door because what they eat is more delicious than what's on her plate.
When the kittens are done, I set them free, pick up their dishes, and Wylla darts into the room to lick up any food bits left behind. Then, she follows me to the kitchen to revisit her own dish. The kittens join Bean in the living room, and when Wylla is done eating, joins them all.
Usually Bean watches out the window for a spell, then heads upstairs to nap, but the sunshine was so lovely yesterday, she climbed from her window perch and into the rays on the carpet where she was soon joined by the rest of the crew for a nap.
What a sweet sight it was watching these four sharing the window, the warmth and their morning nap.
What a lovely post today, it's so heartwarming to see them together. You've given those kittens an amazing start in life.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I'm a writer and I cannot begin to express the contentment and delight your pictures (of "OUR babies") afford. Thank you for allowing us all, your adoring neighbors, to share.
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy & sunny little group! Effie and Hazel have been well mentored by their foster sisters!
ReplyDeleteAaah, Hazel loves her some Butterbean! And my goodness, Hazel is so leggy...or is just the angle of the photo? Adorable none the less.
ReplyDeleteI want to lie down in the sun with them!
ReplyDeleteUmmm, Bean looks particularly, ahem, "floofy" in the next to last picture. ;)
ReplyDeleteA floofy kitty is a happy kitty. :)
DeleteYou know, speaking of floofy--I recently read some studies that imply that, just like with humans, a cat can be overweight but in good shape--and the health risk from being overweight vanishes, life expectancy goes back to normal. I think, if Bean stays active (kittens will do that) and eats high-quality food (good owners will do that), she can safely be moderately floofy. :)
DeleteHow adorable! Thank you for sharing these precious moments with us.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos of beautiful kitty-girls. The first photo is really stunning!
ReplyDeleteBuddy and Tiger's Mom
Heartily seconded. It's a fabulous photo. You do a great job with catching furbabies at just the right moment, in just the right way.
DeleteI love how unfazed Bean is with/around the wee ones. A floofy Buddha is the Butterbean.
It's always nice to share a sunbeam!
ReplyDeleteomfg..!! epic sunshine cuteness, esp the last pic!
ReplyDeleteWee Wylla isn't so wee anymore! They all look charming.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures really show the love and acceptance Bean teaches the little ones. Wylla has certainly learned her lessons well too. I especially love the pictures where Bean is reaching out her paw to the babies and they reach out to her. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteHow regal the Queen Miss Butterbean is truly, she shares her sunpuddle spaces and loves them up a bit..Then Miss Wylla joins in, she is so dadblasted cute, the little ones are growing fast, I pray daily they are adopted together and not too soon, you have certainly done an outstanding job tending to the wee ones, but your Queen Bean and Princess Wylla are really something else..have a sweet memorial weekend enjoying your sweet angels..ciaoX()X()X()XXXX!
ReplyDeletePicture 4 with Hazels out-stretched paw to Bean!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! these cats/kittens are the best tonic going
Such sweet pictures. Bean really is a zen teacher to all of her students. You can see that with how Willa responds to the kittens. And that box of sunbeams couldn't be any smaller!!
ReplyDeleteSweetest quartet I’ve seen in ages! I love the way Bean decides to hang with the youngsters, and they all get mellow together. Such a lovely vibe.
