Final Family Portraits

Here are  few last group shots of the girls. It's funny how now that the kittens are bigger, Wylla is starting to seem smaller again. Of course, that will all change when the next batch arrives.

When Effie's Not Chasing Her Tail...

...Hazel is chasing Effie's tail. But Effie's too busy with Wylla's Rattle Mouse to even notice.



And yes, if you look closely, you can see shaved little bellies. Yep, friends. I'll be sharing the departure tale soon.

Let Sleepy Cats Lie

Sorry to disturb you, Effie.  I know you're napping, and the camera shutter is kind of loud, but you are such an adorable little ball of kitten, and I had to take your photo.

Now, back to sleep, little one.   It's a three-day weekend, so we're all going to have some extra rest.

Sunshine and Warmth

Bean gets fed first, then Wylla. While Wylla eats, Effie and Hazel's breakfast is prepared, and Bean makes her way to the picture window.  The kittens eat breakfast in their room, Wylla abandons her breakfast and cries at their door because what they eat is more delicious than what's on her plate.

When the kittens are done, I set them free, pick up their dishes, and Wylla darts into the room to lick up any food bits left behind. Then, she follows me to the kitchen to revisit her own dish.  The kittens join Bean in the living room,  and when Wylla is done eating,  joins them all.


Usually Bean watches out the window for a spell,  then heads upstairs to nap, but the sunshine was so lovely yesterday,  she climbed from her window perch and into the rays on the carpet where she was soon joined by the rest of the crew for a nap.

What a sweet sight it was watching these four sharing the window, the warmth and their morning nap.

It's a Big World Out There, Effie

I guess the kittens have been so distracted chasing tails, biting butts, and running wild, to even notice that just above their heads and out the window, there is a whole other world.

This morning, Effie finally figured it out and climbed up the book stacks to peer out the window.

It's a big world out there, isn't it Effie!  Now, please be careful getting down.

Toes, Glorious Toes

Hazel has something she would like to show you today: her toes.   She wants you to see how delightful and glorious they are.

They really do have the velvetiest kitten coats I've ever seen.

The Brothers Need a Home!

 Effie and Hazel's brother Mack has found his family, but Zack and Jack are still looking for their perfect home.   I've had the pleasure of spending time with both of these fellows, and they are just as sweet as their sisters. Whoever snatches us this pair is lucky, lucky, lucky!  

These boys are quite close, so foster mom Sue is insisting they stay together.  They are happy and  active little gentlemen.  They're so very dear and incredibly handsome.  Brother Mack gets along famously with his two collie roommates and Sue expects these two would do just fine with dogs, too.
